In a new interview, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong talked a little about their forthcoming full length:
"I'm pushing myself to be progressive in songwriting and being a songwriter.
"I come from a culture where I'm into great albums, and I still believe in that. I'm fiddling more with the arrangements and writing songs.
"
I think the way we make records is just kind of a classic way of making records. Everybody uses Pro Tools now, you know--we use Pro Tools, and we use tape."

As previously reported, Green Day posted a video of them working in the studio for their upcoming record which will be produced by Nirvana producer and Garbage drummer, Butch Vig.
The video briefly shows drummer Tre Cool and bassist Mike Dirnt recording their respective instruments.
The new album will be Green Day’s first since 2004’s massively successful "American Idiot". The band also recently performed and recorded under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs and released a garage-rock album titled "Stop Drop And Roll!!!" earlier this year.
The video can be seen here.
