Hail Of Bullets Preparing To Enter Studio

Hail Of Bullets, the new band featuring Gorefest drummer Ed Warby, Thanatos guitarists Stephan Gebédi and Paul Baayens, former Pestilence/Asphyx singer Martin Van Drunen and former Houwitser bass player Theo van Eekelen, will enter Excess studios in Rotterdam, Holland in February to begin recording its debut album for a May release via Metal Blade Records.

Commented Ed Warby: "Yesterday we had our last band rehearsal before we enter the studio. Worked out some final arrangements and played the last two songs we wrote for the first time. One is the epic closer to the album (we'll have fun building this one up in the studio), and another is the proposed bonus track; a groovy beast of a tune that actually has a dual guitar solo in it. Martin couldn't attend, so we'll leave the vocal fine-tuning for the studio. I'm also working on a nice, moody intro for the album. Some strings, some bombs... it's turning out a lot cooler than I expected; God bless ProTools! Meanwhile our creative department is hard at work on putting together the artwork, it's starting to look very promising indeed.

"And finally we're close to securing a U.S. deal... more information will follow shortly."

Hail Of Bullets' semi-legendary four-track promotional CD, which recently brought the band a deal with Metal Blade Records, is being released on vinyl this month through Iron Pegasus Records from Germany. The limited-edition EP will be available in two different versions from various mailorders and underground labels throughout Europe and the U.S.

Hail Of Bullets was formed in late 2006 through a mutual love for old-school death metal bands like Autopsy, Bolt Thrower, Massacre, Celtic Frost and Death. In the summer of 2007, the band entered a Rotterdam studio to record a four-song promotional CD, which was mixed by the infamous death metal guru Dan Swanö in Sweden. Swanö stated upon the CD's completion: "If this promo doesn't get you guys a good record deal, I will eat my laptop!"

Hail Of Bullets' entire four-song promotional CD is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
