In Flames have posted the following update:
“So, we have played the last show of the 'Come Clarity' tour. It has been amazing, and the whole band would like to send out a Massive thank you to all of you who came to our shows. Without you guys it would be pretty boring to play live, that’s for sure.
As you know you can all submit your own photos from any of the In Flames shows you may have been at. All you have to do is email them to webmaster@inflames.com and they will be posted as soon as possible.
If you think we are now all going on holiday and taking it easy you are all wrong…we are about to start pre-production/record the new album, which will be released next year at some point, hopefully around spring time. The new album will be recorded in IF Studios in Gothenburg.
You can follow the entire recording step by step by checking in to MySpace, where a video diary will be shown. A new episode will be posted each Monday. The 1st episode will be up on September 10th so make sure to check in for that.
Until then, thanks again for making 2006/2007 awesome years for us.”
Thanks for the info to Smnnews.com.

: There was some decent stuff on Come Clarity, and I realize that they probably don't want to just re-hash Whoracle or Clayman,,,,,but what real In Flames fan would mind that? I wouldn't.POSTED: 08/31/2007 - 12:44 pm / quote |

: I dont think Come Clarity was a step backwards. It was less nu-metal'ish than the 2 albums before it. And while I didn't like it at first, I grew to love it.
That said, Whoracle was an awesome album, and more of the same would be good.
So basically, lets just hope this isn't their St Anger....POSTED: 08/31/2007 - 12:49 pm / quote |

: Come Clarity was an amazing album combining all the best of the old and New IF. Soundtrack sucked and rerout was decent. but i have high hopes for the new album i mean they never really have let us down to much. personally i think his new vocals are way better than the death metal deep groul. and i cant understand his lyrics now. anyway i think you all need to stop living in the past and get the hell outta the 90's you want the old times back dig a hole and live in it with old IF. this is 2007 i wanna hear something awesome and new not something theyve already done. evolution babyPOSTED: 08/31/2007 - 02:58 pm / quote |

can mall-metal-core get any softer?
On a serious note though, I have high hopes for this album, they seem to be heading back more towards their roots. Just hopefully they'll bring back their melodic-death metal days and drop this whole nu- and core influence.
But Bjorn cutting his hair was a big mistake. :\POSTED: 08/31/2007 - 03:58 pm / quote |

What the hell kind of talk is that? Bands that go stale after a few albums and fall off never to be heard from again do so because they cater to fans like you. Whoracle was a fantastic album, but if I want music that sounds just like Whoracle... I'll go listen to Whoracle. The whole point of a "new album" is just that, it's new. Come Clarity was one of the best albums I've ever heard, and although Whoracle and Colony of The Jester Race were also fantastic albums, the last thing I want from In Flames is another album that sounds like ANY of those. You don't make an impact by creating a massive stockpile of songs and albums that could easily be mistaken for each other. You explore every corner of your creative mind and make album after album that everyone will be able to recognize within 5 seconds of the first song.POSTED: 09/02/2007 - 01:10 am / quote |

Slasher_Sloth
: the quality clean parts and cool effects of the new in flames + the metal edge of the 90's In Flames (especially the guitar work, slipped quite a bit).
At least a couple growls.
thats what I want to hear.
and make another Moonshield (I'm talking a song of the same caliber here).POSTED: 09/02/2007 - 04:22 am / quote |
Jackolas
: There acoustic work is (no sheet) some of the coolest around. They are great at instrumentals too, see Man Made God, "Jesters dance", and "Dialogue with the stars" POSTED: 09/02/2007 - 07:38 am / quote |

Pallar Anders Visa
Whoracle and so on..
I like all albums ( but I do hope the new one is something more like Clayman )POSTED: 09/02/2007 - 12:22 pm / quote |
metaldud536
: I think their next album should incorporate everything from all the other albums.
Some tremolo picking, drumming from Morphing into Primal, the soloing!, acoustic interludes, and a slow but very melodic song like Moonshield.POSTED: 09/02/2007 - 12:56 pm / quote |
