Musican Jack White has revealed he has recorded a song with hip hop artist Jay-Z.
While in London, England, The White Stripes frontman told GQ Magazine his main priorities at the moment are Third Man Records and his plans for saving the music industry. But White also unveiled that him and rapper Jay-Z were recently in the studio.
"
I just did a record with Jay-Z," he said. "
We did a song together a few weeks ago. It was incredible. I played him something that I've been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It's unbelievable-sounding."
The musician wouldn't confirm specific details about the track or when it would be released but critics are already excited about the project as the two artists have complimented each other over the past year.
White was offered the idea to collaborate with a hip hop artist before in 2004 when producer Mark Ronson tried to convince him to record a song with Andre 3000 of Outkast, but he refused.
In other news, White and his bandmate Meg White recently released the live disc Under Great White Northern Lights on March 16 which features live performances of tracks "Blue Orchid", "Fell In Love With A Girl" and "Seven Nation Army".
