John 5: New Solo Album In April

Guitarist John 5 (Rob Zombie, ex-Marilyn Manson) will release his eagerly awaited third solo album on April 3, 2007 via Shrapnel Records. Entitled "The Devil Knows My Name", the CD will feature guest appearances by Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne), Joe Satriani, Tommy Clufetos (Rob Zombie, ex-Alice Cooper), Piggy D. (Rob Zombie), and Matt Bissonette (David Lee Roth), among others.

John 5's second solo album, "Songs For Sanity" (2005), featured guest guitar solos from Steve Vai and Albert Lee. John also worked with Kiss frontman Paul Stanley on Stanley's second solo album, "Live to Win", which was released in October.

In other news, John will be making an appearance at the NAMM show at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA to sign autographs. The details are as follows, according to Blabbermouth.net:

This guy is easily one of, if not the most versatile guitarists out there. I bought the tab book for Vertigo a while ago and you can find just about every technique imaginable in there. Definitely one of my all time favorites.

I love John5; he's such a good player yet he's so modest and a good role model. I love all his work with manson and zombie but i'm yet to properly hear his solo stuff. I know though that his work with manson/zombie doesn't do him justice.

for the record, manson always said that there isn't a separation between the Brian Warner and Marilyn Manson. They are in a sense two sides of the same personality, much like the MM name itself.

Looking forward to the new album, obviously. John's songwriting has improved drastically on Songs For Sanity, so it would be very interesting to see what the new record will bring. He is an excellent guitar player, so some high expectations for me.

John 5 is not only an amazing guitar player, but he's a really cool guy too. I saw him in Huntsville Alabama in this tiny club when he was playing with the band Loser. I didn't have a clue who he was, but I kept telling my girlfriend that the guitarist may look weird(he had his eyebrows shaved off and had the huge things painted on his face) but that he was awesome. Later that night after their set I saw him and went over and talked to him(once again not knowing him at all), and he was so cool and gracious. We talked to him for about 15 minutes. He asked us how we liked the set and what we thought about it, and thanked us for coming out and gave us a 3 song demo of theirs(he was going to sign it but couldn't find a sharpie. If i would have known who he was i would've went and bought a sharpie). Anyways fast forward a week or two. I was watching Letterman and saw Zombie, and kept thinking that the guitarist looked familiar then i realized it was the guitarist for that band that we had seen. I ran to my computer and looked up Loser and viola their guitarist was John 5. The moral of the story is "Always keep a sharpie on hand"

john 5 is extremely amazing, that cant be argued. marilyn manson though, is extremely talented, and smar t. i dont want to get into that, but he is extremely talented in his own way, i doubt you could have done half of what he has. im not a big fan of his, but i do acknowledge his talent.
