Kaiser Chiefs Complete Another LP

The Kaiser Chiefs have confirmed the October 13 release of their new record, Off With Their Heads. Co-produced by Mark Ronson and Eliot James, it features guest appearances from Lily Allen, Sway, members of New Young Pony Club, and string arranger David Arnold (think the James Bond theme), reports ArtistDirect.

"We're planning a tour for later on in the year and looking forward to hearing the first single on the radio soon," the band wrote in a statement. "Mark Ronson has been bigging up the album in interviews for a while now which is nice because it sounds better coming from someone not in the band but we think it's our best album yet."

I think 11 songs is fine for an album, 12 at most in my opinion unless it's live.

If a band had 14 awesome songs I wouldn't want them to drop 2 because of 12 being the maximum songs on an album... As long as they are good and add something to the album I won't complain about an album being too long.

Im curious what the Chiefs are going to do/did with this album, I'll definatly listen to it when it is released.

heard some of the new stuff when they played the iow festival this year...they were ok. not as catchy as the employment singles and more electro/dance then the dear angry mob album

they were interviewed on mtv i think it was this morning, and they said it was because they did some festivals last year, and because they'v been invited back to some of those same festivals, they wanted to bring a new setlist rather than reel off the same one from last year, thats why its been so quick im guessing

i heard on radio one today that the kaiser cheifs were bashing indie bands for 'churning out the same old formula over and over again' in their songs and releasing albums in quick succession...

Hopefully the album will be good as a whole!
Usually their singles (like the foo fighters) are the best songs on the album and the most of the rest is basically filler thats how it feels for me anyway!!

I didn't like the Angry Mob. It was not even good and it did not recapture the sound that Employment had. I think that the Kaiser Chiefs are alright, in terms of their sound. Their vocalist is awful. I think that the problem is that many Britpop bands, nowadays, rely on terrible vocal work. Liam Gallagher's vocals are good for Oasis, but they don't translate to what he's trying to emulate. I would buy the first Kaiser Chiefs album, but not the second. I'm an American, by the way.

Oh yeah, and alot of Britpop bands are arrogant. It goes without dispute that they aren't actually nice guys. Yeah, the Stones had a rebellious element, but I think they could engage in more polite conversation than these people. There are plenty of bands with arrogant members. I think the Kaiser Chiefs do create some good songs but they shouldn't get cocky. Not only them but for all bands worldwide, one song hardly brings much success, consistency and sometimes the member's personalities help build success.

i think the most a band should put on an album is 15 or 16... that just seems like a good number to me

Exactly what i think. Although i wudn't call 2days music britpop, just Indie crap. Sorry, i really hate the vocals. Kaisers are ok comparred to other bands of this genre.

Whoa, remember the days when bands put 8n songs on their albums? Although back in the early 70's bands managed to put out 2 albums a year, preety inpressive

I completely agree, they were rubbish at isle of wight, and there songs get less catchy and more generic as they get newer, employment was great, ruby had a nice catchy beat, all that other stuff of the recent album was balls, and that song never miss a beat wasnt good enough for a first single imo when i heard it

I'd love more songs too.But I think usually bands have to cut down songs due to the limitations of cassette/CD capacity.More songs is possible but we'll have to compromise the sound quality and stuffs

I'm pretty sick of them now. Their songs are always on the radio, and they seem to play every festival humanly possible each year.

I love the irony of one of their songs "Everything Is Average Nowadays" - yes, especially your generic music.

just because the title is similar to another bands song doesnt mean it's a rip off. Both Peter Gabriel and the Fall of Troy have a song called Sledgehammer and thats totally different, then Blink 182 and Muse both have a song called Stockholm Syndrome and thats not the same either. im not having a go im just saying bands sometimes have similar song names =]

No theyre not manufactured. The Kaiser Chiefs are Indie, im not gonna deny that, but i would also class them as an actual rock band, one of the few bands that could come out of this 'indie era' and continue making good songs unlike 'Scouting for girls' or 'Razorlight'. However, I too am glad that Indie is on its way out.
I look forward to the new album.
