Kaiser Chiefs Release Fan-Created New Album

Kaiser Chiefs have released their new album "The Future Is Medieval" today (June 3) - and they are allowing fans to earn money from LP.

As part of an innovative new initiative available via kaiserchiefs.com, fans can compile their own album, create their own artwork and then sell their creation to friends.

A statement said: "The band's intention is to create a music experience that can be shared and enjoyed by all and at the same time revitalise and subvert the industry standard."

Once fans have created an album of ten tracks, fans are then given a unique webpage and tools to promote the album with the opportunity to earn £1 from every album purchased following a recommendation to a friend.

"The Future Is Medieval" is the follow up to 2008's "Off With Their Heads".

Kaiser Chiefs will play London's Electric Ballroom on June 16.

An album compose dof originals tracks, or jst decide on the order of the Kaiser chiefs tracks, or what?

I don't like how complicated this is. Too much thought in choosing the actual songs, the very important tracklist order itself, artwork...

Plus the fact that most people will be missing out on 10 songs as well.

They better release it on CD, as old fashioned as I must sound...

I would have much prefered them to release it on a C.D. Don't care if I sound "old-fashioned", I like to have a physical copy. I hope it's better than Off With Their Heads, because "Half the Truth" is an amazing song, then they (in my opinion) ruined it, getting Sway (or whoever it was) to rap the middle bit.
