The Lemonheads have already covered songs by Proud Scum, Charles Manson, Suzanne Vega, KISS, Gram Parsons, Simon And Garfunkel and others, but they'll unleash a whole new set of versions of other people's songs when "Varshons" comes out on September 13th.
The 11-track album was produced by Cornershop's Anthony Safferty and Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes. Actress Liv Tyler adds backing vocals to Leonard Cohen's "Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye," while Kate Moss guests on Arling & Cameron's "Dirty Robot."
The Lemonheads have been working on a new studio album that should be released sometime this year.
Here are the various versions on Varshons:
"I Just Can't Take It Anymore" (Gram Parsons)
"Fragile" (Wire)
"Layin' Up With Linda" (G.G. Allin)
"Waiting Around To Die" (Townes Van Zandt)
"The Green Fuz" (Randy Alvey & The Green Fuz)
"Yesterlove" (Sam Gopal)
"Dirty Robot" (Arling & Cameron)
"New Mexico" (Fuckemos)
"Dandelion Seeds" (July)
