Lifehouse Ready 'Smoke & Mirrors'

Lifehouse has targeted December 8th for the release of their fifth album, entitled "Smoke & Mirrors."

The first single from the album, a song called "Halfway Gone," is due out October 27th. As the track has made its way online, listen to it right here.

The release will be available in both standard, deluxe edition and a two disc deluxe edition with details to be announced in the coming weeks.

A post on the band's MySpace page states:

"After a over year in the studio, we will release our fifth studio album ‘Smoke & Mirrors‘ on December 8th. The release will be available in both standard, deluxe edition and a two disc deluxe edition with details to be announced in the coming weeks. The first single “Halfway Gone” will be released to radio and digital retailers on October 27th. We are just as excited as you. Much Luv from Rick, Jason, Ben and Bryce."

The album will also include the band’s previously released single "From Where You Are" (listen to it here).

The album marks the first from the band since their 2007 release Who We Are which spawned the hits First Time, Whatever It Takes, and Broken.

I've never been able to decide if I like Lifehouse or not. Their songs seem to be really hit or miss: some are really good, some are just boring or not good songs

Hmmmm, even when i put my prejudices aside, these guys still manage to suck, and yeah, i'm quite aware that they aren't death metal as well, a genre i'm not a huge fan of anyways. It's pretty bad when you get referred to as "Nickelback Lite." Yikes.

Lifehouse has been off and on, particularly on their last 2 albums, but I'm excited for this one. Should be decent, at least.

they had way more songs even better than that and Everything I think is one of my favorites they ever did

I liked some of their older stuff, but every album seems like a step down from the one before it. They seem kinda generic pop-rock to me now.

Wow, Nickelback lite? Do you even listen to their music? Lifehouse used to be one of my favs, last 2 cds not as much though. No Name Face goes down as one of the best cds I've ever owned, and I hope this one goes back in that direction.

well it doesn't matter what kind of music they're doing. the most important thing is, that their songs are real. and it seems to be, they reach many people, even me. I am very excited about this new album. I have every album, no name face was the best, but the other albums have their highlights too. You just need to get use of it. Now I now what I want for Christmas.^^

Well, they've had two hit singles from each of their last two albums and their songs have made appearances in movies, commercials, and TV shows, so I think some of you guys need to open your ears a bit.
