More 'Unholy Alliance' DVD Details

Hailed as "the heaviest, darkest metal tour of the summer, if not the year," the "Unholy Alliance Tour: Preaching To The Perverted" stomped and screamed around the globe last year, according to Blabbermouth.net.

On October 30, just in time for Halloween, the "Unholy Alliance Tour" DVD package will be released (American Recordings) and will feature the tour's lineup headliner Slayer, the undisputed kings of speed metal/thrash, and the "future of heavy metal contenders" Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Children Of Bodom and Thine Eyes Bleed. The DVD will have an approximate running time of 90 minutes.

The "Unholy Alliance Tour" DVD was shot at Vancouver's General Motors Place on July 13, 2006, was directed by Adam Rothlein (Speedway Films), and boasts performance footage plus bonus material to include backstage, behind-the-scenes and one-on-one interviews, many of which were conducted by the Unholy Alliance artists themselves.

Slayer's "Eyes of the Insane", which took home a Grammy Award this year, is included on the DVD. Other selections on the DVD include Lamb Of God's "Vigil", Mastodon's "Blood & Thunder", "Capillarian Crest", and "Crystal Skull", Children Of Bodom's "Angels Don't Kill" and "In Your Face", and Slayer's "Angel of Death", "Dead Skin Mask", "South of Heaven", and "Antichrist", among others.

Saw them in Cardiff last December with a few friends - we walked out halfway through Slayer because they were awful. I mean absolutely horrendous.

Also, that show had In Flames instead of Mastodon, and they weren't all that bad.

Don't bash Slayer like that man. All the songs up there are ****ing awesome, and it's great to have some new live professional recordings of them. I agree with everyone else that it's a bit of a shame that Lamb of God only has one song on there while Mastodon has three. Also there's so much room on a DVD that they could have fit a lot more songs from each band. I've seen Slayer live and same with Bodom. I'm going to see LoG on their upcoming tour so I don't think I'll buy this DVD. The main thing that interests me is the interviews, which will end up on youtube.

when they said they were filming it (i was there) it sounded like the whole concert will be on DVD which would be awsome... but selecting a few songs from CoD and LoG makes this sort of odd as they were the best (slayer was slayer which was of course awsome)

from reviews I've read of the tour (didn't go because bodom were only playing a short set) lamb of god absolutely KILLED slayer. Plus it's painfully obvious that Alexi Laiho and Roope Latvala destroy kerry king and that other slayer guitarist dude (not a huge slayer fan). Lamb of God definitely should've had more attention on this dvd

Why did the hell is this DVD coming out so late? The actual show filmed was over a year ago! And the setlist for the DVD is so freaking lackluster.... Only 2 CoB songs.... I would've bought this if it came out a few months ago as advertised, and if there were way more features and songs, but there isn't alot you can headbang to at 90 minutes.

I didnt really grow up on slayer like most slayer fans did and I like things to be more melodic than what they do and I feel that slayer seems to play the same thing over and over again, not really leaving there little thrash box they became famous for. granted, I respect them and all (except king he always comes off as an ******* to me).

No "raining blood", only ONE Lamb of God Song, and they ignore In Flames as well (if the purpose of the DVD is to give us the experience of UHA as accurate as possible all bands should be included, at least.).

    _thumbs down:
