Motorhead To Enter Studio In February

Motörhead frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister told ABORT Magazine's E.S. Day in a new interview that the band will hit the studio in February "to rehearse, write and record" its next album. The forthcoming CD will be the follow-up to "Motörizer", which sold a little more than 6,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 82 on The Billboard 200 chart. The album was recorded in part (drums only) at Foo Fighters frontman/ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, California with producer Cameron Webb, who also worked on "Kiss Of Death" and 2004's "Inferno".

On November 2, UK-based publisher John Blake Publishing Co. will release the authorized book "Motörhead: In The Studio" by biographer Jake Brown, featuring exclusive interviews with Motörhead mainman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister.

"Motörhead: In The Studio" is described in a press release as "the first comprehensive study of the in-studio making of Motörhead's legendary catalog — including such classics as 'Overkill', 'Bomber', 'Ace of Spades', 'Orgasmatron', 'March or Die' and 'Motörizer', among others — told via first-hand interviews with engineers and legendary producers as Tony Platt, Trevor Hallesy, Will Reid, Thom Panunzio, John Burns, Howard Benson, Ryan Dorn, Mark Dearnley, Chuck Reed, Peter Solley, Arabella Rodriguez, Cameron Webb, and former drummer Pete Gill." The book's cover was conceived by Kilmister and features the band's classic warpig logo sporting sunglasses and headphones.

"Motörhead: In The Studio" is available for pre-order at Amazon.com.

Motörhead performed its classic song "Iron Fist" on the October 8 edition of ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". Video of the band's appearance can be viewed here.

Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee finished third in the reality-TV competition "Kändisdjungeln", the Swedish version of the popular UK and US show "I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!". Dee was eliminated during the series' fifteenth episode, which aired on September 25.

Dee, 45, sat out most of Motörhead's recent North American tour in order to take part in "Kändisdjungeln", which was filmed in the jungles of Malaysia. Filling in for him on the dates that he missed was former Guns N' Roses and current Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum.

Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

sweet
another kick ass album
more bands should follow motorhead and release albums more frequently
if a motorhead album isnt that good you just have to wait one year for another one to kick you square in the balls
