Muse Aim To Include 'Hardest Song Ever' On New Album |
| artist: muse |
date: 11/26/2008 |
category: upcoming releases |

|
Answering questions from fans on the Muse forum, bassist Chris Wolstenholme confirmed that work had started on the follow-up to their 2006 album "Black Holes And Revelations".
Wolstenholme wrote: "It would be nice to have the album out in the second half of next year [2009] but we have not set ourselves any targets. It is more important for us to make the best album we have made to date, and if that means it comes out in 2010 then we don't mind."
The star did add that he and the rest of the band were hoping to make the earlier release date.
The trio also revealed that the album could feature the "hardest song" frontman Matt Bellamy has ever written.
"There is a new song in three parts, more of a symphony than a song, which I have been working on sporadically for many years," said the singer, answering another question. "As a large percentage of the composition is orchestral, I have never wanted to collaborate with a string arranger as they may make it 'theirs'. So I have been arranging the orchestral elements myself, which is taking a long time. It should hopefully make the next album as the final three tracks."
Meanwhile the band also joked that having recently been given honorary doctorates they have been enjoying using their new titles.
One fan asked whether they had used the phrase "Trust me, I'm a doctor", to which drummer Dominic Howard joked: "I use that line every day... I just hope I'm not in the situation where someone takes me seriously and asks me to do something. At that point I will just have to offer a healing drumbeat."

: Yay Muse . The title kind of infers "heavy" rather than "complex" but a lengthy orchestral song would be interesting to hear seeing as there were no particularly long songs on Absolution, I'm sure Matt will make it work. Hopefully some amazing riffs too. If the song turned out like the lovechild of Apocalypse Please and Butterflies and Hurricanes + a spazzy riff I would be pretty happy. Matt was asked in a kinda Q&A going on at the Official Muse Forums "What song was the hardest to compose?"
And he answered with the quote in the article about these new Ochestral songs he is working on...
So he means Hardest to Write/Compose.POSTED: 11/26/2008 - 10:35 am / quote |

We're talking about Matt Bellamy, here. And, he's been working on it for many years. This cannot possibly turn out bad. It would be a musical fallacy.

Because everything about them is amazing. The lyrics are smart, Bellamy's vocals are amazing, the guitar and bass are written to compliment each other well, and all in all every song is good. Yea, real creative, aren't they?
If you ask me, this only serves to make them look more arrogant and stupid than they were before.
It seems a good majority fans think that their music is so sensational and genius, and that Matt B. is the greatest guitarist of the 21st century.
But if you insist that "epic" sounding riffs are the most awesome and amazing thing you've ever heard, then be my guest, this is all just my opinion, I'm not going to stop anyone from listening to them. POSTED: 11/26/2008 - 09:31 pm / quote |

Take a look at Protest the Hero or The Fall of Troy. They're both quite technical, AAAAAND they're music is aranged amazingly. I don't get why people keep mentioning Dream Theater, they're quite good musicians with a horrible singer and tacky song writing. I still like muse and have seen them live.. But theres so much better out there though.. really. I could name 10 bands that have they're shit together better than muse(not just a technical sense ofc..).POSTED: 11/27/2008 - 05:42 am / quote |

: Muse are pretty tasty, dream theater do get a bit tacky after a while, but still good. If youre into dream theater and can bare a bit of death growl definately get into opeth, especially their old stuff like the watershed album. But its true that not everything is about technical skill. After all everyone could argue about how their favourite band has more skill than your favourite band etc. but the reality is they'd probably both be pwned by some old jazz guys and peeps like mozart. So share the love not the hate! I'm pretty psyched about muse's new album. Just hoping that Bellamy doesnt dominate the rest of the band too much like he has done so before.POSTED: 11/27/2008 - 08:36 am / quote |
