Ah, this is going to own. People say they hope it goes back to OOS sound, but muse is a forward thinking band, not afraid venture into unknown territory. The streets colab was pretty dire to me, but i respect them for trying something out of the ordinary.
Yeah, so, more riffs, more piano, more falsetto, more strings, 15 minute songs plzkthnks.

despite the fact that i firmly believe knights of cydonia should be our new national anthem, i thought black holes&revelations was their weakest album so far. absolution and OOS were far better.

but it's muse. they won't disappoint.

I hope matt stops singing so high... i know its what he does, but after four albums oh "AAHHHHH" at a high F... its good and all... but meh

Just for once... a whole album with normal singing... please

this is contradictive...

surely if they are a forward thinking band there should be less falsetto and less piano... and more of somthing completely different?

somthing heavier would deffo be cool...

Are you even a Muse fan? What the hell are you thinking... first your awesome Black Metal idea, yes ofcourse they will ditch their entire fanbase to please you. Then you get sick of the singing? That's one of the trademarks of Muse, it's also his voice. It don't go too low.

In other news... this album will dominate like every album Muse has ever created.

His voice is actually like that you know - they got a doctor to look at his vocal chords and they're about the size of the average woman's

He used to try singing lower but it was nowhere near as strong and he found it more comfortable in a higher range

ofcourse i wouldnt want them to go black metal... im not a bloody inbred. i just think it would be funny.

And as for the singing... he can sing lower... and has done on previous records.

Its all the shitty vocoder stuff thats so high pitch... and yeah its their trademark, but all of you lot are saying they change and they dont do the same thing twice... but they obviously do lol...

I dont think anyone can really predict what Muse are going to do, but I think it would be nice for them to go down a bit of a heavier route. A lot of their jams inbetween songs live are quite heavy, so they could do it.

I sorta agree... The riff at the start of "Time is Running Out" sounds awfully like a creaking door, which is a damn shame, because if they had actually done it with a creaking door, it would have been really cool.

But on a serious note, if this follows the trend, then it will be even MORE epic than their last album, and have even cooler riffs :P Am I the only one who was dissappointed with the lack of piano in BHAR? Yeah, and his voice has changed since then. Matt has said he's not comfortable singing some of the older stuff, because of the strain on his voice. That's why whenever they do, it's usually in a different key these days.

They do it live all the time. Not just on HAARP.
I've heard them do Bombtrack, Maggie's Farm, Microphone Fiend at least. And there's loads more that they do, and have done in the past.
Matt and Dom always rate Rage at Reading as their favourite ever gig as well. One of their 'moments' when they knew they had to be in a band.

DarkWizzard :
This makes me unbelievably happy.
While I like all of their previous albums, I enjoy listening to new stuff, so as long as it's still recognizably Muse and awesome, I'm fine with something completely different.

Made my day/week/month. Muse are my favorite band of all time. Their last album was extremely good with the exception of the first track which was just okay.

They should definitely write a couple heavy songs. Look at Assassin and their love for RATM, Muse needs to tap into their heavy side.

+1 I would love to see something like Dead Star or Stockholm Syndrome in the new album

Assassin = One of my favs. (****in' drum fill is so damn hard..)
I'll pretty much be happy any direction they go, I've loved EVERYTHING they've come out with, so yeah.

And has everyone missed Muse when they came to the states? They came to Utah twice in the last two years, which not many bands do, so I'd imagine they came close to most of you! no excuse! okay. But yeah, they need to come back (So i can see them a third time :P)

They turned a bit too pop for my taste, but still cool.

This is great news, surely this'll be a big step up.

GuitarManDan15 :
Im thinking this will be a heavy album with more weirder noises. There has been a lot of admaration for RATM from the muse guys which leads me to belive heavier sounds and almost deffo a colab with the guy from the streets, a proper one i mean. However this being muse, the RATM thing could be complete red herring and we get usher combined with kathrine jenkins...

hmmm muse. sorry guys, your not interesting me at all.

Melodic_Rocker :
People think this is going to sounds like RATM because of the "recent admiration" Bellamy has always worshiped Morello and he has always been Matt's main influence. So that isn't likely. And the collaboration with the Streets was just for fun.. and with the publics great distaste for Skinner they wont release anything with him again. anyway GO MUSE!!!!!

A man that can play guitar like hell, that is a great pianist, and can sing extremely good, and (almost) all at the same time, is not a man...Matt, you're a GOD!!! That in combination with Chris & Dom results in the best band ever! Muse forever!!!!!
