My Chemical Romance: Limited Edition Live Package

My Chemical Romance have announced the release of a limited edition package to accompany an extended version of last year’s concert DVD filmed at the Palacio de los Deportes sports arena in Mexico City.

The show was filmed in 2007 on "The Black Parade" world tour and now live footage of the nine-song encore from that show is being released.

The package features a bullet-shaped USB drive attached to a brand-new custom-designed "Venganza!" vest – copied from those worn by the band on their world tour in support of 2004’s "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge". Only 5,000 of the vests have been produced.

In addition to the nine-track encore, the bundle includes exclusive photos of the band taken during the show, and those who pre-order the package on the band’s official website will receive instant downloads of the live, previously unreleased versions of "Give ‘Em Hell, Kid" and "Helena" from the show. The package, which is priced at $49.99, will ship on March 31.

Are you guys kidding? This is a brilliant idea on their part. Actually, it's not really their idea at all - it's Trent Reznor's. They're releasing this as a special item for fans of the band that are willing to pay for this for the added value.

Would I like these songs without having to pay 50 bucks for a DVD I already own? Yes. ... and I plan to.
Could they have gone about it differently? Yes.
But it's not ridiculous, nor are they running out of ideas. From the looks of it, it seems like this was planned all along. Ahead of the game if you ask me.

I think this is a nice idea for people who like Revenge more than Black Parade, I love seeing the 'old' songs getting played and the only songs I watch on the DVD are the ones from Revenge anyway. So I think this also serves as a further 'farewell to the black parade' which is obviously what The Black Parade Is Dead! was all about.

Funny that'd you'd say that's like BFMV and mention the first album in the same breath. Considering the first album had "Bullets" in the title. So it ISN'T like BFMV, and they are, in a way, paying some respects to their first.

I do not understand why there is loads of shock about a special edition version of a cd? Metallica did it in a coffin shaped box for their new album, in the same way bob dylan did similar also for his recent "bootleg" cd.
This is getting such hostile responses because it's MCR, who I buy no means enthuse over.
At the end of the day they are releasing a limited edition cd... 50 dollars isn't even that expensive for what you get, Red hot chilli peppers was like 100+ was it not?
