New Testament Record Coming in 2014
Thrash masters Testament are looking to kick off the writing process of their new album earlier next year, frontman Chuck Billy recently confirmed.

As Billy told Rock Overdose, the band's latest studio effort, 2012's "Dark Roots of Earth," is a "real representation of Testament." Therefore, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the group intends to stay on the same course.

"We are going to start writing and recording early next year," the singer said. "It think that January to April, we're gonna start writing and recording, so the new album will be out next year."

He explained further, "I think that we're on the right direction with the 'Dark Roots Of Earth.' I think that the old saying 'If it's not broken, don't fix it' fits, so we're probably going to stick with the same formula and idea. I think that there isn't any Testament album that sounds the same, so who knows what kind of songs we'll write next year... I don't know."

Prior to hitting the studio, Testament will release "Dark Roots of Thrash" live album on October 15 through Nuclear Blast Records. Recorded during the band's latest tour, the effort was announced with "Rise Up" performance clip. Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments.
