I'm surprised. I thought they had released all that could be released in way of Nirvana material. An unrealed live performance? Awesome!

is white vinyl different from normal vinyl? Besides the awesome color aspect? That is unless I'm a total vinyl noob and they aren't different colors.Either way I'm kicking myself in the ass for buying the album just 2 weeks ago. Stupid awesome things coming out just as I shell out cash for less awesome version.

They've never missed any opportunity to make more money out of nirvana and this is no exception. Bleach is a stellar album, but the live disc definitely isn't going to make me want to buy it again.

They don't REALLY milk Nirvana as much as everyone's making out! It's the 20th anniversary, it's kinda special. Plus, if the CD's remastered it'll sound pretty good. I'll be getting it, and i've heard "Bleach" SO much in my time. It's ace!

Ok Kurt Cobain is dead...that means you can't sell anything Nirvana ever again, right? haha. Guess who else is dead...Jimi Hendrix, and John Lennon...but you can't sell anything once a person is dead apparently.

As much as I love Nirvana, isn't this a little much. They've released so many Nirvana collections and live performances that it's starting to get ridiculous. It's not like the songs will be any different. Just "digitally remastered" which is an insult to Nirvana. Do you really think this is what Kurt would have wanted?

Oeeh yeah cause digital is baaaaddddd..

Not every digital remastered material is good, I agree, but let's hope for the best of it.

I remember being so obsessed with this band, like many people who are now in their 20's - early 30's. Back then this was probably the coolest band in the world (though some preferred RHCP and the Pumpkins, maybe Oasis) and I could listen to Nevermind or In Utero for weeks without growing tired of it

I still love those records to death, but only when I haven't played them for a while (except for "Teen Spirit" which is played so damn often...).

After a month you start thinking "there's so much more music left to explore, what do I find so special about this band? They only released like 3-4 "real" albums..."

Then after a few months you start believing that sh*t and go "stop being so nostalgic dude, they probably weren't even that good. Most of my other records are so much more complex / experimental / beautiful / louder, blablabla"

And then after half a year or so (probably an entire year in the case of Bleach because the music seems so plain and unpolished) you decide to give it another try and that's when you remember just how f*cking good these guys were and how fun the songs that they made were

Then the cycle repeats itself...

The sad part is that you still have to introduce Layne Staley as "from Alice in Chains". His name should be universal but then again im glad it's not.

My thoughts exactly. I don't see the reason to pick this up, even though its my favorite Nirvana album. It just seems like a way to get more money from fans who already bought the album. Unless this re-release is around $10, the live dvd won't be enough for me to buy the same album again.

Fuck remasters. All they do today for remasters is add a shit load of compression and brickwall limiting which destroyed the dynamics of the music forever. Listen to the original release of Bleach if you want to hear how it was intended to sound! Too many people are fooled into buying their favorite albums remastered, only to purchase an inferior product.

it's for them to make more money. rather, for courtney to make more money.

however, they got me. because i want to hear it remastered, and i want to see the booklet. the live performances also intrigue me, because i like hearing their stage banter. if theres any of that on there then this is worth it.

The remastering and the new photos are cool, but the only draw to that show is that it's probably an non circulating Soundboard source tape. You can get a decent quality recording of that show pretty easily on any good bootleg site.

We won't really need to worry about issues of compression like what happened on Death Magnetic. Jack Endino is handling the remasters I think, and he's did tons of stuff with Nirvana. I'm pretty sure he'll know how to make it sound better instead of just "louder"

Yeah, they could have. Slash and Axl Rose protested the greatest hits album, but that was released anyway. Most of the time the record company can do whatever the hell they want, they financed and sold the record, they pretty much own it.

kurt made passionate music and worked hard to ensure as many people heard it as possible, so i dont think hed be too bothered about re-releases.
to be perfectly honest i think hed be more pissed off that we were sat hear debating money rather than music!!

I don't know about that. Wasn't Kurt always about the underground. I thought he hated the mainstream. Isn't that what led to his demise. Nirvana became so mainstream that he couldn't handle it.

if kurt was all about the underground, he would never have signed with geffen. bands dont accidently trip up and fall into the mainstrem. they know what they're getting into. I read alot of stuff bout Kurt, he allways knew he was good. he was boasting bout being bigger than the beatles before his first single was ever released!! he worked his arse off to get into the mainstream. but yes you are right. when he got there he couldnt handle it!

A reissue of the original LP, good as it was, with a live performance thrown in, hardly counts as "Deluxe" does it? Blimey wait for 2011 when it'll be the 20th anniversary of you know what.....

Yupp. The "super-duper-deluxe-aniversary-lost-concert-found-a-demo-plu s-free-lock-of-kurts-hair" versions will just keep on coming. I guess if i was a washed up ex-actor/(lol)musician/junkie (prob not an 'ex') or a small time, one-hit-wonder, record label then doing this is 100% justified. Have you seen Courtney lately? Holy s%&t! She looks baaaaad. And not the MJ "bad", just the normal, no awful, kind of bad. The record exec's? Cocaine isnt getting cheaper.. (Cheap shot i know but cant you feel the cynicism jump out of the page?)

All of you whining bitches need to stop complaining and be thankful their is a new release. The Live show is what i'm gonna buy it for. You might be able to get a bootleg but it would probably be in crappy quality. 90% of Nirvana fans always worry about Courtney Love and how she's making money and not about the music. I don't like her either but, it is none of our damn buisness where the money goes. With that being said, I am vey exited about this and will happily purchase it.
