Nirvana: 'Live! Tonight! Sold Out' DVD

The Nirvana concert video "Live! Tonight! Sold Out" -- which was first issued on VHS in 1994 -- will be released for the first time on DVD, Nov. 7.

According to a Universal Music Enterprises, the DVD version of the video has been color-corrected and remastered in 5.1 surround sound. It's also been expanded to include some previously unreleased performances from 1991, which were recorded at the Paradiso club in Amsterdam: "School," "About A Girl," "Been A Son," "On A Plain" and "Blew."

"Live! Tonight! Sold Out" -- which includes 15 complete songs, as well as interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and excerpts from the group's home-video archives -- chronicles Nirvana's 1991-92 world tour, and continues as the band's popularity exploded through 1993.

this is pre in utero so of course there aren't going to be songs off that album on the dvd. hopefully they don't cheap out on extras and interviews because nirvana interviews were usually hilarious and included krist rambling about marijuana.

Good i can't wait for this to hit DVD my vhs copy has been pretty warn out for years now! and why are people saying ohh no "Heart Shaped-Box" and no " In Bloom"? It's alittle late to complain what songs are on it, it came out in 94, which means 12 years ago and it would be wrong to change the performances on something that's already a master peice! when you see it you'll know not to mention this is Nirvana's first DVD out besides the bonus on from the box set, and all those fake boot-leg ones! So come Nov.7 i'll be in line to pick up my fav. bands first DVD!

dude they keep releasing pretty much the same songs look at muddy banks (which was only like 2 yrs after kurt died) with the lights out box set true fans already have these songs. its not really experiencing a nirvana show its a dvd not a live concert you are going to. watch the bonus dvd it has some live performances bad quality but... this is about nirvana no other band i dont like rereleasing crap either its stupid-- and a reunion tour that is different

no disrespect to kurt awesome song writer and helped created nirvana's sound but it wouldnt be shaped the way it is without bass. Nirvana had an awesome origional sound. and was the biggest band of the grunge and were the creators of it.

This DVD was ment to show what the Nevermind tour was like, that's what Kurt wanted and that's the way they're keeping.

Also, Francis Cobain gets the money from this sort of stuff. Courtney has been successful in her own right and makes her OWN money. This is no different to any other re-release so get over it and stop regurgitating the same old shit, "Kurt is turning in his grave" "Courtney is a bitch" or "Justice for Kurt" blah blah.

actually, up until about 6 months ago, you could buy the vhs at amazon for 10 bucks.

I'm definately gunna have to look into this. I have the box set, and while I love it, the DVD kinda bugs me. I mean, it's cool to see them play shows when they weren't signed and shit, but I mean, half of the DVD is them playing at like.. Krist's house. I think it really picks up when they play Teen Spirit at that pretty big show after they pick up Dave, but then there's only like three other clips after that.. a DVD of a sold out show sounds very enticing..

If it wasn't for nirvana then i probably wouldn't have gotten into kickass bands like the melvins, black flag, mudhoney and all these other kickass bands.

I love guitar solos, but it would be sweet to hear more bass solos and drum solos in todays music. Krist is a kickass guitar player in my opinion. He's no Geddy Lee, but he knows what sounds good.
