Despite releasing their seventh record earlier this year, Our Lady Peace are already organizing their plans for the future.
The Canadian rock band has announced they will embark on a new tour across Canada in Spring 2010. Instead of focusing on their latest material, the tour will be dedicated to playing 1997's Clumsy and 2000's Spiritual Machines in their entirety.
With the tour stretching from March 7 to May 22, the band will play two shows in most cities with each day being broken up into two sets. The first set will be either dedicated to
Clumsy or
Spiritual Machines while the second will feature various songs from the group's career.
"Selfishly, it'll be fun for us, but secondly, it's a thank you to the fans," said bassist Duncan Coutts. "Clumsy is a record that people always ask about, and Spiritual Machines is always a record people are asking to hear more obscure songs from."
Coutts also announced the band is gearing up to head into the studio once again as they will work on a new record before the upcoming tour. Guitarist Steve Mazur and frontman Raine Maida have been writing in Los Angeles and are prepared to record in January.
"One thing we've done throughout our career is to push ourselves into different musical places," said Coutts. "We're always trying to stretch and be different, so I'd assume that we're going to try to do the same thing again."
