Paul McCartney Produces Son James McCartney's Debut EP

rating: 0 / votes: 0

Sir Paul McCartney has produced the debut EP from his son, James.

The five-track EP, entitled "Available Light", will be released on September 21 via Engine Company Records.

Four songs were written by James McCartney, while the other is a cover of Neil Young's "Old Man".

The EP was recorded over a two year period at studios in the US and at Abbey Road in London.

"It is basically rock 'n' roll, clean sounding and vocal," James McCartney said.

"The words on the album refer to spirituality, love, family, trying to sort out one's life, and many other things."

"Available Light" can be pre-ordered on iTunes now ahead of its official release later this month.

Thanks for the report to Gigwise.com.

It took him 2 years to record 4 songs and 1 cover song?

He needs to lay off his dads stash and get some focus.

I listened to two of his songs on youtube before deciding I'm uninterested. "Angel" is a polished song that you can listen to while "I Love You Dad" is live. He seems like a talented guy and his voice doesn't really recall his dad which is a good thing I suppose, but at this point I'm happy to wait and see if this new ep has anything better.

That's fine. But will it be any good?

Hopefully it won't make me ill like every time I see Will Smith's kid in a movie.
