Refused Tribute Album On The Way

According to Blabbermouth.net, No Sleep Records has announced an upcoming tribute album to the legendary (and long-defunct) Swedish cult band Refused.

"Rather be… A Tribute to Refused" will feature bands of various genres, hoping to create great renditions of already amazing songs. The CD is currently without a release date, but is expected in late 2008/early 2009.

If you think you have what it takes to capture the energy, emotion and raw beauty of Refused, send an email to [e-mail] with your name, band name, music link and any other information about your band. Please include what song you would like to cover (or totally ruin). Please DO NOT send any MP3s with your e-mail submission.

Pown, i agree. I'm fully prepared for this to be an album of pure suck. They're going to butcher these songs. Plus this isn't even by their old record label, how did they get the rights to do this?

refuseds whole music was based off of anti-pop culture and they wanted the end of people making money of other peoples things.
refused is one of my favorite bands ever, but this cover album is definitly something ill be igoring.

the used covered new noise during their 05 tour and it sounded rad. but i agree. there are few bands that could pull off refused covers and from what i understand they are taking applications from whoever feels like making a cover. at least get some bands with some credibilty.

i dont think any band on earth would be able to cover new noise well. im sure 'rather be dead' and 'summerholidays vs punkroutine' can be done well though.

i only ever like the ones that kerrang pulkl out, like high voltage, and remastered tbh, they were ace, half of the battle is decent songs
