Scott Weiland recently revealed he’s in the process of recording a Christmas album, FMQB.com has reported.
Speaking to ExploreMusic host Alan Cross in Toronto, the Stone Temple Pilots frontman said the disc will feature "traditional jazz style" music, with strings, upright bass, horns and piano.
Weiland said he’s still selecting the Yuletide tunes he would like to cover, adding that he plans to do more solo projects in the future.
Most of the talk with Cross, however, centered on Weiland’s new clothing line. Dubbed "
Weiland For English Laundry," the line’s style was, according to Weiland, inspired by
David Bowie’s late ’70s look and by the ’60s look of
The Rolling Stones.
"I think that fashion and music really go hand-in-hand," Weiland said. "If you look at Elvis Presley through the ’60s where it really took off – Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who – fashion influenced rock and roll, which influenced fashion.
"Whenever they’re synonymous with each other, that’s when a real movement can happen. The last real movement that happened in rock and roll was grunge. It may not have been the most glamorous of fashion movements, but it was a real movement…"
