Brazilian thrashers Sepultura have just entered the studio to begin recording their new album, which is based on the Anthony Burgess novel "A Clockwork Orange" (later turned into the classic film by Stanley Kubrick). An October release via SPV is expected.
Check out photos of the band preparing for the recording sessions at this location.
Sepultura was one of the headliners of the XIII Festival Arte-Nativo Viņa Rock 2008 festival on May 1 at the Auditorio Municipal, Villarrobledo (Albacete), Spain.
Professionally filmed video footage of the song "Roots Bloody Roots" can be viewed at this location.
Check out photos from the concert at this location.
Viņa Rock is the music festival which has the greatest impact in Spain, with more than 70,000 attendees each year. The annual event has been running for thirteen years and features a lineup that consists solely of Spanish and Latin American artists.
Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser recently completed work on his solo debut, entitled "Hubris I & II". A two-disc set, it is tentatively scheduled for release later in the year via Holland's Mascot Records. The CD was recorded in part at A Voz do Brasil studio in São Paulo, Brazil.
Kisser previously stated about his upcoming solo album, "I'm very pleased with the result so far and I'm excited to hear it all done. It was a long process, a learning process and a great experience. It's a musical journey trough the influences I had for last 15 years of my life and at the same time it's very different from everything I did so far."
Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

: I'm hoping the best for them but, with only Andreas Kisser and Paolo left from the original lineup, I'm really skeptical. Igor Cavalera's drumming was just incredible and ever since Max's departure, it just hasn't been the same. Hopefully, this will be good...POSTED: 05/20/2008 - 05:31 pm / quote |

: in brazil the record companies are run by the cartels (mafia) and what they say goes hence why they cant change the name, max covers alot of these ideas in the soulfly albums, and also the murder of dana wells his stepson was to do with this bullshitPOSTED: 05/21/2008 - 03:37 am / quote |

As someone who has seen both Derrick-Sepultura and Soulfly live, I can tell you that, on the stage, Derrick blows Max out of the water! Max barely interacts with the crowd at all, makes no eye contact, only actually finishes about 1/2 the songs he starts playing and is quite an arrogant prick when talking to the press. Derrick is one of the friendliest rockstars I have ever known, he has a great voice, and the band is definitely stronger with him. I do agree that I will miss Igor, as he is one of the best drummers in the world, but Max's shoes are easily filled. Remember, it's been Derrick's band for about as long now as it was Max's.
Then again, maybe if they had renamed the band, you would all have pulled your heads out of your asses and given them a fair go...POSTED: 05/21/2008 - 04:23 am / quote |

: can everybody please stfu about Sepultura not being sepultura because of no Max or Igor. They weren't fired, they left so it was their own personal decision, hence the remaining guys shouldnt have to change shit. Sepultura is their name and they're doing the right thing by keeping it that way.
Original Sepultura kicked ass, Derrick seputlura kicks ass as will this new album. POSTED: 05/21/2008 - 04:58 am / quote |

you can't really believe that album is anything special, that is unless your one of those people who think soulfly are just great, and how the hell does my orientation come to play in this you moron, we're talking music here, you fool, and cavelera conspiracy was nothing but a marketing scheme, and it worked apparently on some people.POSTED: 05/21/2008 - 04:11 pm / quote |

ok first of all this guy is stupid for thinking that anyone is better at sepultura than max. eye contact and all that shit don't matter really. so what if the band doesn't interact with the audience. theres lots of bands that do that. does that mean they suck? NO. however he does have a point. if sepultura's line up now would change their name then yeah i'd give them credit but they just cannot live up to the name that sepultura was. and thats it.POSTED: 05/21/2008 - 07:32 pm / quote |
