I bet the Kid Rock song is going to be fantastic. Kid Rock has a great rock voice and a raspy scream that sounds awesome (listen to "Jackson, Mississippi"). He sounded cool with Jamey Johnson last night on "Between Jennings and Jones."

I will lose respect for Slash if he has written a song that is basically about how much of a prick Axl is. He ususally never really comes out with an insulting comment about people.

I think he's just saying that out of context. You know how radio station people are. I think it's his way of saying this album is going to be a massive success.

Personally, I can't wait for it.

I bet Kid Rock is going to be awful just like he always is maybe he'll even convince Slash to steal melodies from other artists just like he does.

Chris Cornell, Dave Grohl, and Ozzy, I will sure have to buy this album.

Damn, I was hoping he'd of got Dave Mustaine on the album. Him and Dave had some good jams back in the day. Might of not worked out though, Dave being a metal singer, Slash a blues based guitarist.

oh dear
my estimations of a seemingly sold out guitarist have lowered furthermore!
on top of which i cant help but feel disappointed that he decided to make what sounds like a reasonably poppy album, if the two tracks from the above article are anything to go on

I heard Chris Cornell, Kid Rock, M. Shadows, and even Fergie lending their voices to Slash. They were all great! Also featured on the lineup… Lemmy, Iggy, Alice Cooper, Flea, Duff, Myles Kennedy and, you guessed, Dave Grohl!

seriously, i doubt there are many people who HAVEN'T recorded a song with Dave "Lookitmemaw" Grohl

in summary
1980's Slash = pretty damn good
2000's Slash = just damn

I was wondering something about the widely used "sell out " term ..... but how exactly has Slash changed his overall sound and tone, that its completely different so he could sell to as many people as possible.

Last I checked most musicians aspire to play for as many people as possible using whatever concept they have as the backbone for their music

It's also baffling that you point out what all budding musician, hell anyone that picks up an instrument and has a desire to master it does ..... which is play with other musicians .... but I'm guessing once you become a pro you should lock yourself in a closest while whispering "this is my preciousssss"

im not saying that, im just lost as to why he says he wants to lose the ex GnR tag and all of that, yet is always billed as Ex GnR guitarist Slash, and has now, covered a classic GnR song?
i had the mis/fortune of watching a VR gig once, there were no less than 8 Gnr Covers, 1 Pink Floyd cover, and only 4 VR songs, which is suspect given the circumstances.

neither am i saying he shouldnt play with other musicians, just some of them, namely Dave Grohl, seem a bit predictable, although i do admit i may have been overly critical/anti-fanboy with it all but i do have my reservations on slash.

sorry if i offended anyone

I hope it's a heavier album. Slash always talks about how he wants to write heavier music but then never really does. He needs to just do it already. When he was a heroin addict he wrote some of the darkest material ever. He was even supposed to join Megadeth at one point. Him and Dave Mustaine wrote some of the darkest, heroin fueled music ever but never did anything with their ideas. I wish Dave Mustaine was on this album. Maybe he is. I think Michael Jackson might actually be on it too (rumor). MJ owed Slash and he was supposed to work with Slash but who knows if it actually materialized. Either way this album is probably going to be pretty sick. I'm excited.

2 - Fergie is amazing when singing with slash.
3 - Zero the Hero is indeed an amazing and underrated Sabbath track - Gillan & Iommi FTW You can't be knocking Paradise City though....

and 4 - Where's this Michael Jackson rumour come from? That would be sweet as too = 'Give in to Me' was an epic tune.

oh dear
my estimations of a seemingly sold out guitarist have lowered furthermore!
on top of which i cant help but feel disappointed that he decided to make what sounds like a reasonably poppy album, if the two tracks from the above article are anything to go on

It's also baffling that you point out what all budding musician, hell anyone that picks up an instrument and has a desire to master it does ..... which is play with other musicians .... but I'm guessing once you become a pro you should lock yourself in a closest while whispering "this is my preciousssss"

im not saying that, im just lost as to why he says he wants to lose the ex GnR tag and all of that, yet is always billed as Ex GnR guitarist Slash, and has now, covered a classic GnR song?
i had the mis/fortune of watching a VR gig once, there were no less than 8 Gnr Covers, 1 Pink Floyd cover, and only 4 VR songs, which is suspect given the circumstances.

neither am i saying he shouldnt play with other musicians, just some of them, namely Dave Grohl, seem a bit predictable, although i do admit i may have been overly critical/anti-fanboy with it all but i do have my reservations on slash.

sorry if i offended anyone

wtf? VR played 8 GNR covers? when was this?-i saw them twice and this didnt happen-they played 4 covers (3 GNR,1 STP).

Mistress Carrie's show is terrible. They used to play decent music, now it's flat and boring typical rock format.

Slash has every right to play a GNR cover. He helped write the damn song. It's just as much his as it is Axl's

...with Tony Iommi only inspiring Slash to come up with the riff. Sorry couldn't help myself.

Don't worry I ain't knocking the song. Never did never will. Don't know how I'm gonna imagine Fergie taking on the song though...

this was at a gig i saw a few years ago on their first UK tour, i mean yeah they had JUST done their new album so maybe covering classics was an easier route, but still
