Frontman Mike Ness has been writing new material for the new Social Distortion album and the band will soon take time off to record it sometime in the year. Due out in 2006 via Time Bomb Recordings, it is going to be the follow-up to last year's long-awaited sixth studio album "Sex, Love and Rock N' Roll", their first LP in almost 10 years.
Unfortunately, there have been no announcements to see if their recent bassist
Brent Harding will stay in the band permanently. He is the one who has recovered for previous bassist
Matt Freeman (of Rancid) early this year. The album will also be the first without longtime bassist
John Maurer, which Freeman has recovered for.
Their latest album "Sex, Love and Rock N' Roll," released on September 28, has been sold very well and went more successful than their older albums ("Social Distortion" (1989), "Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell" (1991), "White Light, White Heat, White Trash" (1994) etc.) Last year the CD sat at Number 31 on the Billboard Top 200.
As of September 2005, the band is still touring behind with their last album.
