According to Punknews.org, it has been announced that Epitaph Records will be releasing Social Distortion's upcoming "Greatest Hits" record throughout Europe. Along with the 10 tracks and the 1 new track, a previously unreleased live version of "1945" will be an extra song for the European edition of the release. For the rest of the world the record is being released through Time Bomb Recordings on June 26, 2007. Right after the release of the record, Mike Ness and friends will start their upcoming US Tour.
The "
Greatest Hits" compilation includes a number of the band's well known hit singles, including "
Ball and Chain" and "
Story of My Life", as well as the then-never released track "
Far Behind", which has now been released to radio stations such as L.A.'s KROQ. As reported last
week, a video clip of the track, performed live at KROQ Weenie Roast in at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California on May 19th, is also available for watching at
YouTube.
There has been speculation that Social D have also been in the studio working on their follow-up to 2004's "Sex, Love And Rock 'n' Roll". The band still has not yet confirmed a title for the new album and frontman Mike Ness recently said in an interview that it may not be officially released until 2008.
