Soilwork: New Album Due In June

Soilwork vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid and guitarist Sylvain Coudret recently answered a number of fan-submitted questions regarding the making of the band's new studio album, "The Panic Broadcast". The resulting footage can be viewed in two parts here: Part 1, Part 2

Due in Europe on June 25 via Nuclear Blast Records, the long-awaited follow-up to 2007's "Sworn To A Great Divide" is being produced by guitarist Peter Wichers and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Bloodbath).

Soilwork's new album will be the first to feature Wichers since his return to the band in 2008, as well as the studio debut with Coudret, who also joined in 2008.

The drums for "The Panic Broadcast" were recorded at Echo Mountain in Asheville, North Carolina while the rest of the recording is set to take place in Tampa, Florida and the mix at Fascination Street in Örebro, Sweden.

From what I've heard it sounds much better than Sworn to a Great Divide. Hope they've brought that edge back - Sworn sounded was full of dull radio songs except for the Pittsburgh Syndrome and the title track.

i seriously hope it's better than sworn to a great divide. these guys have really lost their touch over the last few years.

Sworn to a Great Divide was a very good album, screw the haters! They wrote that album without their main songwriter, and still it was good. The only real reason the album seemed less good was because they didn't use the trademark thick guitar tone. Of course the solo's were less impressive but what the hell do people expect without Wichers? Anyway, he's back this time... and from what you can hear in the videos on their studio blog I'm guessing it will be their best record yet.
