Sublime With Rome To Enter Studio

Sublime With Rome have announced on their website that they are getting ready to enter the studio next month to begin recording their long-awaited debut album.

Producing the record will be Butthole Surfers guitarist Paul Leary (also known for his work with U2, the Meat Puppets, Daniel Johnston, The Reverend Horton Heat, Maggie Walters, Bad Livers and The Refreshments). The band's history with Leary dates back to 1995-1996, when he produced Sublime's best-selling self-titled album, which was released shortly after the death of lead singer and guitarist Bradley Nowell, who died of a drug overdose in May 1996. The band also says on their website that pre-production has already begun and will continue in Orange County, California at the end of this month before heading to Texas early next month to begin recording the much anticipated album.

Frontman Rome Ramirez commented on the album's process: "This is an unbelievable moment in time for not only me but for Bud and Eric. Over the past year, we have grown a solid bond and shared some great experiences. The guys and I have a grip of mind blowing music and we are heading to Texas to do the album with Paul Leary-- how sick is that! I can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on. Can’t wait to get back out there and play for our most radical fans ever."

Following their month and a half in the studio, Sublime With Rome will also be preparing to hit the road in time starting in April through the rest of this year. Dates are as follows:

The name is quite original. Any further recording by this group will be nothing compared to the chill mastery of Bradley Nowell. These guys need to come to the apprehension that they are no Sublime. Brad Nowell was Sublime. This is just another example of a spent 90s band trying to capitalize on their namesake and are disgracing it since their lead singer, who was the biggest force of the band, is now long dead (Alice in Chains, Blind Melon)
