Yeah, it seems like they've re-learned how to smile since he left. He definitely had a big metal influence on the band.

i didn't like chuck, I have 4 of their albums, that is, all but Chuck cos chuck was too depressed for some reason, I hope they make something like does this look infected or maybe all killer no filler or something but we'll just see. I would have loved to see them tour with the offspring

i hope this album sounds like a blend of "Underclass Hero" and "Does This Look Infected?". doubt it will happen, but it will still be great im sure.

Deryck is a real control freak. I hope the other 2 surviving members get some input it on this album. I think they may be down without brown sound.

Brown Tom is the new guy. Brownsound is the one that left a few years ago.

Im really glad deryck isn't producing it. By producing Underclass Hero, he made it too much of his album rather than a Sum 41 album.

I'd want something more like Chuck or Does This Look Infected?. Something that doesn't sound so standard and boring, but at this rate, not going to happen. Stupid Avril Lavigne...

How am i spamming? This is my opinion of them, and it's true. Assholes, except oddly enough brown sound, he was pretty cool.

For the love of punk, i used to listen to this band when they first had all killer no filler out, i was like 10 or 11, thank god i found Iron Maiden, Slayer, Megadeth! Its ok to hear some songs when you're pissed at a party and have a sing-along but does anyone above the age of 12 actually like this kiddy pop-punk band? If yes, shame on you. I suggest you go buy some Iron Maiden.

No i was defintatly 10, i found Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Ozzy Osbourne all in early 2001 lol

these guys are great, but i am glad that deryck isn't producing it, there was a little tension between deryck and cone while getting the underclass together, but with an outside producer it should be smoother. and maybe the music will be a little less piano-based.

I think he's talking about songs like Pieces or Some Say. I didn't mind the slower tunes but I think their best bet for a solid album is a mix of the slow from Chuck and the fast from Does this look infected?

Or we could listen to what we want to, yeah?
People's shameless pressing of their likes onto people really gets on my nerves. People's tastes are different, you metal lovers don't seem to understand that.

they should call the new one "pain for pleasure" and make eighties style metal (with a bit of punk attitude in it) like they thought of doing years ago. Remember that last track on "all killer, no filler" where they spoofed some eighties shit? and everyone hit the fan because it sounded rad? They should actually do a whole album with maybe that style instrumentation. I ain't saying be an 80s hair band rip off or spoof, but riffs along the ones on that last track would be pretty rad set to some of their more pop-orientated tunes!

metalheads are so shallow that they can't accept people who don't listen to similar stuff. This is the genre I love and am not afraid to say it! Oh, and for the record, Iron Maiden sucks!

Can't wait for the new album/tour so I can finally see them live!!

Don't judge all metalheads on the actions of one prick, that would like me assuming your actions to mean that all punk fans are total pussies.

Chill the **** out and just enjoy your music - other peoples opinions will only bother you if you aren't secure in your own.

You're right about opinions, well said.
And I can't really get excited about Sum 41 albums anymore. They could really use a good masterpiece of an album to define them as a band, but they haven't really done that. Having said that, I'm still going to buy their new one.

and Underclass Hero was damn good, you people just can't appreciate them gaining some sort of complexity, rather than being a punk rock band. Bands change. Quit all the whining.

what the hell are you ****ing talking about? their last few albums have been good? so you're saying that "dtli?," "chuck," and "underclass hero" were good. that is 2/3 true, but how can you even group those 3 together? "underclass hero" (unfortunately) was absolute shit compared to "dtli?" and especially "chuck," so i just completely don't understand how you could talk about those 3 albums as a whole, cuz "underclass hero" is NOTHING at all like their previous 2.

I hope they don't try to make this album heavy as derick is a terrible guitarist. It's a shame used to like these guys saw them live twice. Once when brownsound was with them and once without, and brownsound made this band awesome. Now they should call it a day, underclass hero was terrible

that would be sweet, yes, but that was when they had a guitarist capable of writing/playing that style of music, now wothout brownsound i think they've begun shifting in a more mature direction. this could be beause they have matured as individuals, or maybe it's because they've had to without having a guitar soloist.
