System Of A Down 'Mezmerize' Release Date

Blabbermouth.net reports, System Of A Down have confirmed an April 26 release date for "Mezmerize", the first half of their new double album set. The second CD, titled "Hypnotize", will be out sometime this fall. Meanwhile, the first single from "Mezmerize", called "B.Y.O.B.", is poised to arrive at rock radio on or around March 1, according to Launch Radio Networks.

The Armenian-American quartet has just wrapped up its headlining stint on Australia and New Zealand's Big Day Out festival and is heading home to Los Angeles to finish work on the new album.

The band is also one of many acts that have donated items to a second eBay auction sponsored by Waxploitation Records to raise money for genocide victims in the African nation of Sudan. Other artists that have contributed signed or rare items include Dave Matthews, Dashboard Confessional, and Bad Religion. System contributed to Waxploitation's first such auction last month, along with Limp Bizkit, Korn, 311, Rob Zombie and others.

I have to second that SOAD is not my favorite band, but man, they can play!!! I'm so looking forward to their new album. Cigaro kicks ass, I can only imagine what the rest of the album is going to sound like. Plus, this album is coming out one day before my b-day!!! Someone better buy me that album.

Just because Toxicity was, in your opinion, their best cd, does not mean that anything else they put out has to sound like that. But, on the other hand, it is the same band, and, baseing this off of Cigaro, they are playing the same style, or close, so it will be somewhat similar to Toxicity, so by your thinking, that guarantees it will be a good album.

cigaro does sound like there other songs like the deep voice in the intro sounds like the prison song and the tabs to it on guitar are slightly similar

Their lead singer also plays synth, I think and he played the few violin parts on toxicity

yea toxicity wasn't that great, self titles album rocks, and i like the politcal stuff in steal this album, soad has been my fav band since i was like, 12, so i gaurentee i'll be at the music store, the day both cd's come out

serj plays a bit of guitar live, i saw them at big day out in melbourne and they were amazingly good, played all the best songs of toxicity and heaps of new stuff
