The Cure: New Album Details

The Cure have revealed the title and release date for their long-awaited new studio album. The record is titled "4:13 Dream" and is set for release on October 13, 2008. The band accompanied the announcement with minimalist artwork that may or may not be the art on the release. You can check it out here.

The release follows four singles and an upcoming EP. The band released new material on the 13th of every month leading up to the release of their new record. This included "The Only One" in May, "Freakshow" in June and "Sleep When I'm Dead" in July and "The Perfect Boy" in August. An EP of remixes titled "Hypnagogic States" will be released in September.

The record will be released by Suretone/Geffen and follows up 2004's "The Cure".

I have purchased all of the promotional singles. It sounds like this album might be a bit like Wish

I can't wait...I've been following this album since it was announced. It was supposed to be out last winter but it kept getting delayed.

The Cure is awesome, a band that I will always listen to but I wish Robert quit the Cure after Bloodflowers, they would of gone out on top and I hate to see Robert releasing CD's that are just not the same quality like in the earlier days.

I'm a big fan of the band, but after listening those singles, I'm not sure I'm into the direction they're taking...

I really like The Only One and Freakshow (plus the b-side) but how the album is going to turn out I don't know.

I agree with the comment it may sound like Wish, but what's happening with the whole it may be one version mixed by Smith and the other by someone else?

Actually, since Wish, The Cure have 'found' what can be called (more or less) their official "sound"; sans Wild Mood Swings, they've haven't had a huge departures on albums, at least not like when they did Pornography, and then did The Top, and then Disintegration (etc, etc, although that list isn't in purely chronological order).

Their self-titled could possibly qualify as different sounding, but it still had the same line-up as the previous 3 albums. I'm expecting a shake-up of their sound on par when comparing Disintegration & Wish, mehopes.

Wow! Who is this band and where did they come from?! Knowing nothing about this hip and much hyped new band, I picked up their debut self-titled album.

First of all, for a brand new artist, The Cure seem very mature. The vocals are very boyish and warbling -- the singer seems to take a few pointers from Conor Oberst. They certainly have the whole teen angst thing down -- probably looking up to all those new emo bands out these days.

wow, that is the stupidest review ever. funny as hell, and facepalm worthy for every sentence, but stupid. the new album seems like it will be very good, I cant wait.
