Thursday Recording New Material

Thursday have posted an update on their upcoming plans which include recording and three April shows. The band released "Kill the House Lights" last year, but have not released a new studio record since 2006's "A City by the Light Divided":

"We know it’s been a little while since you’ve heard from all of us here in Thursday World but we’ve been working diligently behind the scenes to bring you the next stage of the band’s life. We’re writing you from Big Blue Meenie Studios in Jersey City where we’re recording some new stuff. There will be an exciting announcement, around April 1st, to let you know when and where we’ll be releasing these tracks but in the meantime we’re planning to get out of the studio and try them out live. So we have three shows coming up and they should be a blast. The first two shows are Poughkeepsie and Lancaster with one of our favorite new bands Envy On the Coast."

Tour dates are below:

04/24 - The Chance Poughkeepsie, NY
04/25 - The Chameleon Club Lancaster, PA
04/26 - Montclair State University Montclair, NJ

Bitchin. I just hope they record things a little different than A City By the Light Divided. The recording was difficult to get used to at first, but had a good feel, however there are a lot of spots that things just do not sound come out the way they should.

Oh god, I'm in love with A City By the Light Divided. Autumn Leaves Revisited is amazing. The older stuff is kickass too, but I think Thursday is one of those bands that only gets better.

Can't wait to hear the new songs.

It's obvious that they're trying to stick to their old roots by releasing Kill the House Lights, but it will be interesting to see how the new stuff turns out.

I love Thursday, their new stuff is hard to get used to compared to the old, but it's all very good.

they did that because they go wayy back. The vocalist produced MCR's debut, believe it or not. I love Thursday, old MCR isn't so bad either.

Yeah, I think they definitely have gotten better with time and experience (especially their singer, god, he was awful in the beginning). New stuff should kick some major ass

Gerard Way was their merch dude if i remember correctly. MCR's first cd before all the hype and whatnot isn't that bad if you give it an honest listen. This is not to say that i actually have any of their music, haha, but you know, just something to think about.

acbtld wasn't that bad, though it wasn't quite as good as War All the Time or Full Collapse. Thursday's never put out a garbage album and if they keep doing what they're doing they might never.
