Widely considered to be one of the quintessential bands of the progressive rock genre, Van Der Graaf Generator have developed a distinct sound characterized by Peter Hammill’s dynamic vocals and the unique and intricate playing of the other band members.
Followers of Van Der Graaf Generator will be happy to hear that 2011 will see both the release of both an album full of new material as well as the beginning of a new tour across Britain.
The English group, who have performed as a trio since the departure of previous member
David Jackson in 2005, are preparing their twelfth studio album. The record will be the first since 2008’s
Trisector, and is entitled “
A Grounding In Numbers”. As of now, the band are planning to release this new studio album on March 14th.
Van Der Graaf Generator have also announced that they are to embark on a five date tour during March following the release of the aforementioned record. If you’re interested in catching one of the performances, they’ll be playing all over Britain at these venues:
