Van Halen is only a month away from a new album and world tour, if their teaser promos are to be believed.
The band has invited journalists to a small cafe this Thursday, where they are rumored to be playing a 45-minute set of new material. It will be the first time they have performed for an audience since their 2007/08 reunion tour.
The band has been working on a new album, and a new image released by the band includes the date 2/7/12. Could this be the date that a new album or world tour is launched?
Fans will have to pay attention even sooner if they want tickets. According to Henne Music, the first dates of the world tour will be on sale from January 10 alongside the single "Tattoo" from their new album. The tour will reportedly kick off in Louisville, Kentucky.
The press event at the 250-seat Cafe Wha? this Thursday might seem unusual, but it has a sound rock heritage. Once upon a time, it allowed up-and-coming acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Richard Pryor to perform while it was owned by Van Halen singer David Lee Roth's uncle, Manny Roth.

I would kill to see this since the the only Van Halen I ever liked was with David Lee Roth. Once he left the band they just weren't the same anymore and they lost all of the fun feeling their music had to it.
The way I see it, the album and tour (hopefully with a Chicago date) both have to be good in order to properly usher in their return. My hopes are not too high, but I'm still interested.
Never really been a fan of Halen. If they're near town I wouldn't mind giving them a shot with a mate though. Although I will say one thing ... EVH is the best guitarist to ever live!
That's not the original bassist!!! At least it makes it 75% Van Halen if it helps. The drummer, guitarist and bassist are Van Halen then David Lee Roth.lol

Probably the only instance where a band becomes more of what it is with the replacement of a band member.
Was saving up for my first car. Nah, fu(k it. I'm gonna buy tickets to Black Sabbath and Van Halen instead
I wish I was born in the '70s instead of 91 so I could see baoth bands in their prime...
