AC/DC has added new North American dates--most of them on Canadian soil--to its ongoing world tour behind last year's blockbuster "Black Ice" album.
The legendary rockers, who currently are barnstorming through Europe, will launch their next round of American dates July 28 in Foxborough, MA. Following an Aug. 2 show in Albany, NY, the band heads to Moncton, New Brunswick, for its first date north of the US border. Six additional Canadian dates follow, including shows in Montreal (8/8) and Vancouver (8/30).
All the new dates are currently on sale, with the exception of the Aug. 22 show in Ottawa, Ontario. Those tickets go on sale Friday, May 22 at 10 a.m. local time. Details are shown below.
The summer run comes on the heels of last October's "Black Ice," the band's first new studio effort in more than eight years. The album made history, debuting at No. 1 on the charts in 29 countries including the US, with stateside sales of more than 780,000 copies its first week.
"Black Ice" also became Columbia Records' biggest debut album since Nielson SoundScan sales tracking began in 1991, according to a press release. The successful first week was quite a feat, considering the album is sold exclusively at Walmart, Sam's Club and via the band's website.
The rock icons kicked off the initial leg of the "Black Ice World Tour" last October, marking the group's first live performance in five years. The long-awaited trek posted sellouts in 18 major markets, prompting encore performances in several cities, and broke sales records at a handful of North American venues.
