Alice Cooper Invites Johnny Depp On Tour

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper has said that he has an open offer to Johnny Depp, with regards to the actor joining his band on the road.

Of Depp, who joined Cooper onstage at London's 100 Club last year Cooper said: "Johnny came to Hollywood to play guitar. He didn't come as an actor at all... I always say to him, 'If you really want to go out on tour, let me know and you can come with us.' I wouldn't be surprised if he did."

Speaking to The Sun, Cooper also offered advice to up-and-coming bands, saying: "Don't get into wimp rock. Be a rock star. Listen to Iggy and The Stooges, early Who, early Rolling Stones."

He added: "Bands are so timid. Every time I see a new band I go, 'Why are you so afraid to be a rock star? Be an obnoxious rock'n' roller. Get rid of your corduroys."

Alice Cooper tours the UK this October.

I saw The Coop first when I was 18 (Eigh-teen! ) and since then 10 or 11 times, I actually lost count, and it was always *at least* good, but mostly mindblowing awesome!
(That first time he only played 75 minutes for reasons beyond me, but he returned to stage in a glitter suit wearing huge sunglasses and belted Elvis' "Jailhouse Rock" - the whole place was exploding.
The guitar guy singing "I love the dead" while showing around the wax head of the "beheaded" Alice alone is worth seeing the show (tho he doesn't always do that one, it varies).
It's called the Alice Cooper *Show* for a reason!

I still don't understand why Johnny Depp hasn't recorded anything. He's had almost 30 years to get something going when he moved to L.A. and still nothing? I'm sure he has the money to hire studio musicians and studio time, hell, even just to pay for the equipment to record an acoustic single.
