Blue October and Switchfoot will embark on a co-headlining tour this summer to promote their respective new releases, "Approaching Normal" and "Hello Hurricane."
The two alt-rock acts have firmed up the "Crazy Makin Summer Tour," which kicks off July 26 in Council Bluffs, IA, and visits 20 cities through the end of August. The itinerary's only multi-night stop takes place Aug. 15-16 in Dallas, TX.

Blue October released "Approaching Normal," the follow-up to 2006's multi-platinum "Foiled," in March. Produced by Steve Lilywhite (U2, Dave Matthews Band), the band's fifth studio set peaked at No. 13 on The Billboard 200 and features "Say It," the album's second single, which is currently climbing the alt-rock singles charts.
Before the summer run gets started, Switchfoot will put the finishing touches on the group's seventh studio album, "Hello Hurricane," which is intended to hit shelves later this year. The San Diego-based alt-rockers worked alongside producer Mike Elizondo (Eminem, Rilo Kiley) on the forthcoming set.
Switchfoot will precede the formal tour with a one-off performance June 27 at the Fifth Annual Bro-Am in Encinitas, CA. The surf contest and concert will benefit StandUp For Kids, a national nonprofit that's dedicated to changing the lives of at-risk, homeless and street kids.
