Bon Jovi Tour Gets Boost From Dashboard Confessional

Alt-rockers Dashboard Confessional have signed on in a support role for a good chunk of Bon Jovi's upcoming North American tour behind its recently released album, "The Circle."

The Chris Carrabba-led Dashboard will be on hand for the tour's February 19 opener in Seattle, as well as most of Bon Jovi's dates in March and a handful of April shows. Information on specific dates can be found in the itinerary to the right.

Released last month, "The Circle" is Bon Jovi's 10th studio album. The band worked with producer John Shanks (Sheryl Crow, Jane's Addiction) on the set, which immediately claimed the top slot on The Billboard 200, marking the group's second straight chart-topping debut and fourth overall.

The album's first single, "We Weren't Born To Follow," hit radio airwaves in August, with a second single, "When We Were Beautiful," following in October.

The group's previous full-length effort, "Lost Highway," debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 in 2007, spawning the hit "(You Want To) Make A Memory." It was the band's first chart-topping album since 1988's "New Jersey."

"After The Ending," Dashboard Confessional's sixth studio album, hit stores last month. The set, produced by Butch Walker (Weezer, Fall Out Boy), is the band's follow-up to 2007's "The Shade Of Poison Trees," which peaked at No. 18 on The Billboard 200.

Thanks for the report to Livedaily.com.

You sure about that? And they're not a bad band to have opening, probably better than The Feeling, though I really wish they'd hurry up and release the tour dates for some countries other than America and Canada. I really wanna see them on this tour.

You just have to know when to call it quits. Bon Jovi is ruining the legacy the created in the 80's. I understand that they are still in good enough form to perform, but seriously. What happened.

I like the "Keep the Faith" and "These Days" kind of music from Bon Jovi. They probably won't ever make that kind of music again though.

I honestly liked Lost Highway better than the Circle. It wasn't the most memorable album but it showed a change in the band's career. I think back to Led Zeppelin and how they went to folk rock in their third album. The critics didn't love it, but going back to straight up rock and roll like on their first two albums would have been a sign of defeat. Bon Jovi took defeat instead of attempting to make something more out of the foundation they had set with their country stuff. The Circle has some good songs, don't get me wrong, but at this point in a band's career, they have enough hits now they just need to find a way to get better. Bon Jovi isn't doing that. To me, the Circle sounds too much like Bounce, and when I saw the band play on SNL, I wanted to throw up seeing Jon wearing mascara and Richie looking like Adam Lambert. I went to see them last tour but the money isn't worth it any more. Especially, when they are singing about how we can all get through this economic crisis.
