After announcing a handful of fall dates last month, singer/songwriter Conor Oberst has unveiled a huge addition to his upcoming itinerary with his going concern Bright Eyes.
Oberst and his current Bright Eyes backing lineup--which includes guitarist/engineer Mike Mogis and multi-instrumentalist Nate Walcott--kick off their fall outing Sept. 14 in Boise, ID. After hitting seven cities this month, the newly announced shows commence Oct. 3 in Mexico City. Oberst and friends will visit 35 cities on the trek, which will keep them busy through late November. Dates are shown below.
Singer/songwriters M. Ward, Nik Freitas and indie rockers Port O'Brien have been confirmed as opening acts for the outing, though specific dates for each performer have not been announced. Check Bright Eyes' official website for more information and news of additional support acts.
The tour supports Bright Eyes' sixth studio set, "Cassadaga," which hit stores in April. Along with Oberst, Mogis and Walcott, the album includes contributions from guest performers Gillian Welch, Janet Weiss (formerly of Sleater-Kinney) and Ben Kweller.
The latest single from the set, "Hot Knives/If The Brakeman Turns My Way," shipped in July.
