Collective Soul have planned to return to the U.S. later this fall after their current Canada's tour.
The multi-platinum rockers from Georgia are wrapping up their Canadian run today, October 17, and will kick off the latest batch of the states' shows with on October 22 in Las Vegas. The band has also booked a show at Atlanta's Underground on New Year's Eve.
As
previously reported, authorities cut short Collective Soul's free concert in New York's Times Square last month when the NYPD decided the crowd had swelled to a dangerous degree. The September 24 night performance attracted more than 10,000 people, causing the traffic to stop on the Great White Way. The group only made it through three songs before pulling the plug under threat of arrests to the band and crew.
Collective Soul support last year's "Youth," their debut release on their own label, El Music Group. It features the Top Five hit "Counting The Days," the Top Ten hit "Better Now," as well as the newly released single, "How Do You Love?" The video for the last one is now available online in Windows Media and Real Media formats. The video was shot during their performance with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. The bands entire performance with the orchestra will be released on a DVD titled "Home". No release date has been set.
In May, Collective Soul issued "From The Ground Up," an eight-song collection that features acoustic renditions of seven of the group's previously released numbers, as well as a new acoustic track titled "Youth," which did not appear on the album of the same title.
