Perennially touring heavy hitters the Dave Matthews Band have sketched out their first round of 2007 shows.
The band's Vegas stand at the MGM Grand Hotel will run March 23-24, with alt-tradionalists The Fray in the opening slot for both shows. Tickets for both nights will go on sale to the public Dec. 9, while pre-sale tickets are currently available to the group's fan club members. Information about the fan club is available at DMB's website.
The group's Australian trek will kick off with a slot at the March 31 West Coast Blues & Roots Festival in Freemantle, near Perth, followed by a bi-coastal appearance the following week at the April 6 East Coast Blues & Roots Festival in Byron Bay. Both festivals also feature Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, John Mayer, and others.
The group will tackle seven shows in six Australian cities during its outing down under, capped by an April 13 show in Melbourne.
Concert-industry magazine Pollstar ranked DMB the No. 8 top-grossing touring act of 2005, with $57 million earned over 65 shows. Only U2 sold more tickets in the US last year, according to Pollstar.

: I think some of his music has got some good instrumentation...but I can't get into it. He needs a stronger rhythm section, IMO. POSTED: 11/28/2006 - 04:33 pm / quote |

Dude I'm not saying he's not a good musician...obviously he's done alot for himself and his band. I'm just saying I hate all the yuppy straight edge UVa kids that love him and through the transitive property, I dislike him as well. Plus he's really "top 40".

No, the thing you can't understand is
a. I'm not making fun of him, I'm making fun of his dorky white college prep-kid fans
b. Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinions about Lacoste shirts and college chicks, but dude, you gotta be pretty white to wear Lacoste. I'm asian and I won't even wear that.POSTED: 11/28/2006 - 11:03 pm / quote |
