Deftones And System Of A Down Announce Tour
After posting two (not so) cryptic images last week, System Of A Down and Deftones have announced a joint tour for August. The North American tour will be a nu-metal ceremony, and has left SOAD fans hoping for another album. Drummer John Dolmayan says he hopes they will get back to the studio too, but for now the band will take their career one day at a time: "For the people who are waiting for an album - I know there's a lot of people waiting for an album; I'm waiting for an album just like they are," said John. "It's gonna happen when it's right and when we can make something that tops what we've done in the past. "Instead of resting on our laurels, we wanna throw them away and create something new and specific for this generation that they can say that's their SYSTEM OF A DOWN." Meanwhile, Deftones are still preparing their next record. Bassist Sergio Vega continues to stand-in for Chi Cheng who remains in hospital following a car accident in 2008. Here's the tour dates: 08/02 - Philadelphia, PA - Susquehanna Bank Center 08/04 - Holmdel Township, NJ - PNC Center 08/05 - Wantagh, NY - Nikon At Jones Beach 08/07 - Washington, DC - Verizon Center 08/09 - Boston, MA - Comcast Center 08/11 - Montreal, QC - Heavy MTL 08/12 - Toronto, ON - Heavy T.O. 08/14 - Detroit, MI - DTE Energy Amphitheater 08/15 - Chicago, IL - Allstate Arena Check out the not-so-cryptic teaser images posted by each band before the official announcement (via Blabbermouth):
