Dream Theater Announces One-Off Show In Quebec City

Progressive metal giants Dream Theater have announced a "one-off" show on August 31 at the L'International Weekend festival at Hippodrome in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Also scheduled to appear are Bryan Adams, Collective Soul and Nickelback, among others.

For more information, visit internationalweekend.ca.

As previously reported, Dream Theater recently recorded a cover version of the Iron Maiden classic "To Tame A Land" for a forthcoming Maiden tribute album, entitled "Maiden Heaven", that is being released next month via Britain's Kerrang! magazine.

Dream Theater's first-ever best-of collection, "Greatest Hit (…& 21 Other Pretty Songs)", was released through Rhino on April 1 at all physical retail outlets and www.rhino.com for a suggested retail price of $19.98 and at all digital retail outlets for a suggested retail price of $12.99. The collection contains three newly remixed versions of tracks from Dream Theater's breakout 1992 album, "Images And Words": "Pull Me Under" as well as "Take The Time" and "Another Day". The collection's 22 songs are split evenly between two discs, which are divided into "The Dark Side" (the metallic) and "The Light Side" (the melodic).

Thanks for the info to Blabbermouth.net.

I don't think they should have made a compilation, progressive bands never should.

What exactly disqualifies progressive bands from making a compilation?

Maybe because most progressive bands make ALBUMS. not SINGLES.

Dream Theater has had like, 4 singles though, and has many more excellent songs. The Greatest Hit album is a good way to introduce people to DT, and that's about all, in my opinion.

On topic: I want to go, but I can't. =(

It's Greatest Hit (...and 21 Other Pretty Cool Songs)...stupid UG people getting it wrong.

If I didn't live 5 hours from Quebec City, I'd be there...but not for Nickelback...ugh.
