Veteran alt-rockers Echo & The Bunnymen will return to North America this spring for a run of dates following the band's upcoming appearance at Southern California's Coachella Festival.
The spring trek, which kicks off with the April 16 Coachella slot, followed by 10 additional headlining shows, comes after the group was forced to cancel its US tour plans last November because of what the band described at the time as "unreasonable demands" from the IRS. The spring outing concludes May 1 in New York City. Dates are shown below:
04/16 - Indio, CA - Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival
04/18 - Sparks, NV - Nugget Casino
04/19 - San Francisco, CA - The Fillmore
04/21 - Chicago, IL - Metro
04/23 - Toronto, Ontario - Phoenix Theater
04/25 - Glenside, PA - Keswick Theatre
04/26 - Boston, MA - Paradise Rock Club
04/27 - Fairfield, CT - Fairfield Theater
04/28 - State College, PA - State Theatre
04/30 - Washington, DC - Black Cat
05/01 - New York, NY - The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza
Echo & The Bunnymen's 11th studio set, "The Fountain," dropped into stores in October. Produced by John McLaughlin, the set features a collaboration with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
The new album follows 2005's "Siberia" - the Bunnymen's 10th album - which was produced by Hugh Jones (Del Amitri, Simple Minds), who also turned the knobs for the group's second release, 1981's "Heaven Up Here."
The British group - which still features two of its founding members: vocalist Ian McCullough and guitarist Will Sergeant - formed in 1978, releasing its debut album, "Crocodiles," in 1980. Although the group flirted with mainstream success in the US, the band's 1983 album, "Porcupine," reached No. 2 on the British charts.
