Fall Out Boy are set to break a world-record, when they will play a show at a scientific colony on March 25.
The band will make the journey to Antarctica with Greenpeace and will bring a crew to film the trek in order to document the impact of global warming.
A certified recorder from the Guinness Book Of World Records will also be present to record the ground-breaking event.
No further details have been made available, but Pete Wentz himself confirmed the event on his blog at the weekend with a promise to unveil more details soon.

: The problem with Global Warming and Al Gore was that he took percentages and blew them up a few points... and if you know anything about the "affects" of global warming, then you'll realize that it takes some serious forces to raise Earth's temperature by a single degree.
Gore stated that the Earth was heating up close to 5-7degrees each year... we'd be dying at that rate right now with an intense heat increase of that magnitude. The only thing, if that were true, it would actually mean, is that the sun exploded and the shockwave is only a few minutes away.
Global Warming is not caused by some aerosol canisters being used... but yet, they do "eat away" certain chemical portions of the Ozone, on the bottom layer, the layers furthest away from the sun, which actually block the UV rays and keep the Earth "insulated."
@Fall Out Boy playing Antarctica: Wow... they steeped really low for this. I guess they just want all the media attention they can get. I mean, do they realize that not many people like them? If I knew a shit load of people hated me, I'd probably not keep trying to stir up crap to keep myself in the news, but rather I'd try to do some cool shoot and be less of a d-bag and maybe I'll be remembered in History a year after I died.POSTED: 03/19/2008 - 12:24 pm / quote |

Global warming per se is fake. We have Climate change. However, Climate change can be disastrous to us, and what we've done is only (probably) accelerate it. Im not a scientist, but its still terrible that we dump all this cr*p into the atmosphere. It's also harder on life on earth to live in a toxic atmosphere. POSTED: 03/19/2008 - 03:48 pm / quote |

LOL.. You speak about Al Gore blowing percentages out of proportion, yet you claim to be an expert on the explosion of our sun. Also, I'm pretty certain Al Gore realizes that aerosol canisters aren't a major factor in global warming. Do some research dude, it's been happening for decades and it's a natural event the Earth does thousands of years at a time. We come out of an ice age, and head for another. It's like preserving the land at a cost of it's inhabitants. Also a chance at rebirth.

yep. Gore used lots of stats that were intially true, like air and water contamination doing slight damage to the atomsphere. and global warming is real. It is real subtle, like .07 degrees each year. The cause is from other sources though.POSTED: 03/19/2008 - 10:40 pm / quote |

Do some research dude, it's been happening for decades and it's a natural event the Earth does thousands of years at a time. We come out of an ice age, and head for another. It's like preserving the land at a cost of it's inhabitants. Also a chance at rebirth.

Greenland is MELTING and the seas have risen half a metre in the last few years. All facts, if you n00bs actually researched a little before joining the "GLOBAL WARMING IS FAKE!!!" band wagon.

I don't see any of you bashers run off, trying to do it. Just face it, they'll most likely be remembered for this (as well as the other stuff the people on UG flame them about), no matter how bad some people think they are.
And with the whole global warming thing, it seems that the majority of people jump on either the 'global warming is fake' OR the 'you're an idiot for saying global warming is fake' wagons, most without doing reasonable research, just stuff they've heard.
