GN'R To Tour In Late March |
| artist: guns n roses |

category: upcoming tours |

|
Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus has told TheTelegraph.com that the band's world tour in support of "Chinese Democracy" should start late March and will likely last at least two years.
Fortus will take part in a one-night-only reunion of Pale Divine, a.k.a. The Eyes, a mega-popular St. Louis, Missouri alt-rock act that broke through nationally in the early '90s. The original four members — vocalist Michael Schaerer, Fortus, bass player Dan Angenend Jr. and drummer Greg Miller — will take the stage at The Pageant in St. Louis at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, after not playing together for 17 years.
Guns N' Roses' new album, " Chinese Democracy", sold 56,000 copies in the United States in its fourth week of release to land at position No. 33 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD has shifted 421,000 units since it was released on November 23 as a Best Buy exclusive after a wait of more than 15 years.
Kevin Cogill, who was arrested in August for allegedly leaking nine tracks from the then-unreleased "Chinese Democracy" album online through his blog, pleaded guilty violating federal copyright laws in a Los Angeles court on December 15. According to the Associated Press, Cogill's plea deal requires him to cooperate with investigators and may lead to a sentence of up to a year in federal prison, probation and a large fine.
Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

: This article is wrong. Richard released a statement just the other day saying that he was misquoted and that he never said that GNR would tour in March. Axl Rose also recently said in a posting that talks about a tour are in their early stages and that absolutely nothing is set. POSTED: 01/05/2009 - 11:13 am / quote |

: I believe Fortus responded that what he said was taken out of context and that he doesn't know if they are starting a tour in March or if it will last 2 years. I can't remember where I read this, but I do hope they start touring soon. Seeing them in 2002 wasn't much of an experience, but seeing them in 2006 was a completely different story and amazing.POSTED: 01/05/2009 - 12:36 pm / quote |

And yet the audience complained when Stinson explained this. I don't get the whole "Bottling" thing - if you don't like a band, don't ****ing go see 'Em. It's simple!POSTED: 01/05/2009 - 01:32 pm / quote |

: It's a complete misquote. Why doesn't UG actually take into consideration what Fortus has said and stop spreading rumours which will then fuel more hate towards Axl when the tour never shows up?
Nobody knows when the tour is going to start. You'll only know when it's on the GN'R site...POSTED: 01/05/2009 - 01:52 pm / quote |

Axls bound to piss people off by turning up late, and i wonder if he'll fire any band members or personell on tour as well.

: See, you compare their album release to someone's like AC/DC, and we now clearly know what makes an album sell. : I'm not even going to waste my money on this. Axl will just stop in the middle of every song just because of some fan in the crowd for cheering too loud or not clapping, or something idiotic. So true. Axl should just make it his new band, which it is, and call it something else. Just like Duff and Slash did with Velvet Revolver as their new band.POSTED: 01/05/2009 - 08:41 pm / quote |

It's pathetic that you'll spend money on a piece of shit like Axl Rose. He doesn't appreciate anyone. At least we know one thing...there's at least 56,000 people that gave Axl something to wipe his ass on and you're one of them. Oh well...your money and your ignorance.
Anyways...It's funny how other people compare Guns N Roses success to Metallica's as well. Didn't Metallica debut at number 1 with their new album. I hear they sold over 500,000 as well. There should be no comparison lolPOSTED: 01/06/2009 - 12:31 pm / quote |

: 500,000?! Are you serious?!?!?!? Try 2.1 MILLION! The only other people to beat them were: Lil Wayne, AC/DC with a little over 3 MILLION and Taylor Swift at 4.1 MILLION!
METALLICA WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER THAN ANY FORM OF GN'R!!!! OLD OR NEW!!!

When I saw them in '06 they charged £37.50 so with booking fee's etc it came to around £45 total for one ticket.POSTED: 01/06/2009 - 03:48 pm / quote |
