INXS Announce 2006 Tour

The new INXS lineup will open its first North American tour January 18 in Vancouver. The group recently replaced late lead singer Michael Hutchence via the public audition/TV reality show "Rock Star: INXS," which ended with Canadian J.D. Fortune landing the gig.

The band -- Andrew Farriss (keyboards/guitar), Tim Farriss (guitar), Jon Farriss (drums), Kirk Pengilly (guitar/saxophone), Garry Beers (bass) and Fortune - is working on its debut album with Fortune, "Switch," which is due November 29 via Epic. seriously these guys are just cashing in! INXS should have stopped when Michael Hutchins died, if they cared about him they would not go on tour, or ae least use a different name!

i think this will be interesting.

wow i got a real problem with people who say that the band shouldn't tour without him after he died and respect and all. Micheal Hutchins was great,no doubt about it but it shouldn't mean the band shouldn be on tour. Im sure if it was one of them he would want to keep the band going, i mean bon scott was great but ac/dc continued on. Should be goood i love JD's voice. INXS is pretty good tough IMO.

i thought the show was neat... kind of like an american idol thing except with wayyy better songs being covered, dave navarro hosting it, and an awesome house band.

Then again, some people are just obsessed with hating anything popular or even remotely media-based. Rock on, INXS.

I find it Ironic that the new singer is from here in NS and yet there are no Maritime tour dates, not that I would go see them anyway.

Martey Casey is sooo much better.

Oh well, I'm glad he didn't win.

the show rocked, it was about time that they had a show not about plastic pop tart singers (america idol) but actual musician with skills wow who would have thought. The house band rocked on the show too, possibly better than inxs, but whatever j.d was a good choice and i'm going to drive from edmonton to vancouver to see them.

that show gave us all a front row seat to the downfall of rock and roll as we know it.

id have preferred it if ty or marty had won it. j.d. doesnt seem right for a band like INXS.

That show was so gay. Some of that drama crap had to be staged(just like every other reality show).

JD has a good voice but damn at the start of the show, he acted really homo, but hes alright now, and i LOVE INXS there great, and they probably continuring touring because thats what they love.

Mike_rocka_boy wrote on 10/06/2005 - 05:39 am / quote |
i think they should have stopped when their singer died... Nirvana left out on a high note, but now INXS are just getting pounded.

Epiphany wrote on 10/06/2005 - 06:43 am / quote |
I loved the show, but I was shocked when Mig wasnt chosen. After only being in the bottom 3 once, the fans loved him! I know I voted for him, if you can pull Queen off then you can pull anything off. But J.D. was a better choice than marty for INXS. Their not coming anywhere near memphis so I guess Im screwed in seeing them live but hopefully this will just be the first tour of many to come. Rock on INXS.

Whoa! I live in highland. I am shocked that they are coming because it is a pretty small town. I probably won't get to go because it's a Casino, but big deal, its INXS. My dad might want to go though.

They said in the show that Marty will be opening for them in the tour?

It's all a cash grab. The band is no longer credible in the way they acquired the new singer. It goes like this: Big money for the band because of a reality show, make an album that will flop but make huge dough touring because people will come out because they're curious, disband then retire for good with a fat bank account while the singer attempts a solo career which also flops
