According to StarPulse.com, Grammy nominated musician from the Hawaiian Islands Jack Johnson is proud to host the Third Annual Kokua Festival on Earth Day -- Apr. 22nd, 2006 at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition to the Oahu show, the Kokua Festival is again coming to Maui on Apr. 19th, 2006 to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC) at the A&B Amphitheater in Kahului, Maui. Jack will be joined on stage by country music legend Willie Nelson with his jam-band The Planetary Bandits, folk musician Ben Harper, local ambassador of aloha Henry Kapono, new Hawaiian reggae talent Paula Fuga with her high energy funk band ALO. The festival will include a booth village with local organic food and beverages, earth-friendly products and services from green companies, alternative energy demonstrations, interactive games and crafts for the kids, and countless environmentally active groups from around the islands. All proceeds go to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting environmental education programs in Hawaii. The funds raised from the 3rd annual Kokua Festival will be used to further support and expand the school recycling program on Oahu, sponsor field trips and curriculum development, as well as to introduce an exciting new farm to school program in Oahu public schools in the fall. On Oahu and Maui tickets are $35.00 for general admission/lawn, $40.00 reserved seats, $50.00 in the seated pit area, and $17.50 general admission for children 3-10. Children under 3 are free. Tickets will be available at 9am island-time Feb. 4th 2006. Read the entire article at this location.
