Korn will headline the 2010 spring edition of the Jagermeister Music Tour as they look to pave the way for a new studio album that will surface this summer.
The trek kicks off May 2 in Myrtle Beach, SC, and winds down a month later in Lubbock, TX. Additional dates will be announced soon, according to organizers, expanding the itinerary to more than 25 cities. The current schedule is detailed at this location, and includes Korn's previously scheduled headlining dates this month and in April, as well as the band's co-headlining Mayhem Festival trek with Rob Zombie.
"
Back in the day, Jagermeister was one of the first brands to back Korn," frontman
Jonathan Davis said in a press statement. "
Those early tours were some of the best times of our lives. Now, we are looking to bring that vibe back in a big way."
The band will receive opening support during the tour from Los Angeles nu-metal act 2Cents as well as an additional local opening act in each market.
Korn worked with producer Ross Robinson (Limp Bizkit, Slipknot) on "Korn III: Remember Who You Are," which is due in stores sometime in June. The album, the group's ninth studio effort, follows 2007's untitled release, which peaked at No. 2 on The Billboard 200.
