Hm, I wonder if they'll play Freebird and Sweet Home Alabama, they're probably the only songs most people seem to know by this band...

Forgive my assumptions. I'm sure it'd be a good gig though!

Not since Billy Powell died last winter. Now there's only 1 original member left.

Gary Rossington is the only original from the albums of the 70's. Although, Ricky Medlock was an original before they made it big, but left to form Black Foot before Skynyrd released heir first album in '73.

This is not Lynyrd Skynyrd, it's just a bunch of feelingless professional musicians leaded by the old Gary Rossington with he's friend Rickey Medlocke who just imitate Allen Collins (RIP), and Ronnie Van Zandt (RIP) 's brother on the vocals. They just got another guy to fill Billy Powell (RIP) and he sounds really bad in concert.

They really suck and what theyre doing is like raping Ronnie by the way they can, even if he's dead.

Plus the original members alive are Gary Rossington, Ed King, and Artimus Pyle, don't forget him because he use to be really kickass, and he contributed to the live sound of Lynyrd Skynyrd (the real one this time).

I thought their new album was terrible. 12 songs about how good it is to be an American, or being a Southern-American, or about being a Christian, gun-toting American. Can they not sing about anything other than being a bloody American?

I don't see this new band as Lynyrd Skynyrd, just some cover band doing everything they can to imitate the old group as best they can. Sure old Skynyrd sang a few songs about being american but when an Artist makes a whole album you've just got to think he's a bit of a narrow-minded twat.

why would they be feelingless? because they are professional musicians??

id pay 10 bucks tops for this. Id expect them to be playing for free at an outdoor daytime family festival around the 4th of july though, wouldnt really wanna pay to see them, especially at this point where they're just a nostalgia act.

I wonder if they'll replace the final member and still keep the name with no original members. They might as well, they came this far doing it.

Rickey Medlocke is a world class musician and will rock. He loves to rock. He will rock you.
I used to see Blackfoot frequently back in the day, and they were incredible. Their best is their first album, No Reservations. Blackfoot rocked. Skynyrd country rocked. I think its a shame that Blackfoot never got the audience they deserved. I think its a shame that Skynyrd
is now doing this right-wing bizarro sheit. I saw them on Fox News Channels'
Mike Huckabee show, who is a former minister who ran for the Republican Presidential Nomination last year. It was a gun lovin' God fearin' hootenanny I tell ya whut. All I could do was shake my head in sad disbelief.

I just don't understand people coming on here to moan about how they should give up because of the different line up of the band etc! Sure they are not as good as the original, but at least they are still out there doing it, and providing a product for people who want to see or purchase it. If you don't like it im sure you won't buy the cd or see them, but surely you've got better things to do with your time than go on a forum and be negative about them.
