Megadeth: Upcoming Tour Will Squash 'Potential Feud'

Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has issued the following update:

"Today is the 9th of April and I have agreed to doing something last night that I am sure a lot of people are going to be very excited about, and something that I had hoped would one day lead to another one of the potential feuds going away for good, if not for a long while.

"I can't confirm the band or the dates yet, and I have to go get my youngster up for school. Rest assured, as soon as we are ready to announce it, you will be one of the first to know.

"I worked on my [upcoming autobiography] yesterday for an hour at least, and talked with the people from Dean [Guitars] for a spell, then worked on lyrics and finally checked my eyelids for holes.

"I have to get up my kids for school now, so I will check back soon."

In an interview conducted by Daniel Josefsson of Sweden's Close-Up magazine on February 28, 2009 at the Stockholm stop on Megadeth's "Priest Feast" tour (with Judas Priest and Testament), Dave Mustaine revealed some of the details of his upcoming autobiography, which is tentatively scheduled for release in late 2010. The book is being co-written by New York Times journalist Joe Layden who also wrote "The Last Great Fight", which takes readers behind the scenes ofwhat is considered by many to be the biggest upset in the history of boxing: James "Buster" Douglas' tenth-round knockout win over Mike Tyson in 1990.

When asked about the difficulty of writing a 100% honest autobiography, Mustaine replied, "If you're going to write an autobiography, everything has to be included — the good and happy moments, as well as the hard times. You can't leave anything out. As of right now, we have covered everything up until halfway through the Metallica years, so I guess now is when the more delicate stuff will come. On the other hand, if a musician writes an autobiography and it doesn't include any sexual perversion or debauchery, then it's not an honest story. I think a lot of people are going to by shocked by some of the chapters. But I have no choice — either I write about everything, or nothing at all. This is basically a story of human interest, it's much more than just 'Dave from Megadeth.' There has been a lot of people that have tried to stop me, but they can't. Over the years, I have learned to cherish both my friends and my enemies. So it's a story about a guy that has been lifted up and then kicked down again, and I think it will show very clearly that I never give up."

Tentatively due on September 1 via Roadrunner Records, Megadeth's forthcoming LP will be the group's first with guitarist Chris Broderick, who replaced Glen Drover at the end of 2007.

The recording process for Megadeth's twelfth studio album began on January 7 at the band's own Vic's Garage studio in San Marcos, California.

The CD is once again being helmed by British producer Andy "Undie" Sneap (Arch Enemy, Nevermore, Exodus, Machine Head), who worked with Megadeth on the band's last album, "United Abominations", which came out in May 2007 via Roadrunner.

MetClub members will buy all the General Admission tix before everyone else gets to, then sell them on ebay for about $350 a pop. Metallica has speed and it actually sounds good. i like megadeth but all they had was speed there was no brilliance in the guitar works, although the riffs were heavy. Listen to Metallica's song Battery and then Symphony of Destruction and you will understand.

Symphony is an absolutley crushing metal riff though. It doesnt need speed to be heavy.

Anyway I think they are gonna tour with metallica possibly because I only remember on feud that dave had and thats with lars and james. Im very excited about the new album as well should be a lot better than metallica's death magnetic. Like ive always said megadeth has always been consistent in their music, no changing their style for a few albums or anything like that.

Pay attention to the word "ONE" of the potential feuds. I think he'd probably tour with slayer or metallica. Nobody really cares about Anthrax anymore.....

To be honest I'd hate a big four tour, mainly cos I wouldn't be able to afford it!

battery and symphony of destruction are two completely different songs and are two awesome songs in very different ways. and Symphony isn't even that fast. No brilliance in the guitar works? How about 'poison was the cure'? That verse riff is fast and very technical.

That's not a very fair comparison. It's like me saying...

You're entitled to your opinion but in mine and the music buyers opinion you tell me that with Marty they out trumped Metallica. No I respect Megadeth for what they are but Metallica is my favorite band not by the records they sell but by their talent to put a riff together do they have more talent than Megadeth no they just utilize it better. If you don't agree that's fine it's just one opinion believe what you want but I won't bash you.
